I'm sure he's a good guy and he may be a good fighter, but I just can't shake the impression that Brad Axe sounds like the working name of an actor co-starring with Lisa Ann in an Office Parody.
Round 1: Revell's circling and lacing Axe with hooks and rights; Axe steadily coming forward and trying to work the uppercut and right, but not having as much success. Axe cut around the eye and can't seem to come up with an answer for Reavell's in and out attack. Reavell 10-9.
Round 2: Reavell's working the leaping left hook to the head and body. Axe trying to fire back and gets a glancing right in when Kevin misses, but is generally second best throughout the round. 10-9 Reavell, 20-18 Reavell.
Round 3: Axe is starting to enjoy a bit of success; landing a couple of body shots, a double jab and a right hand that glances off Reavell. But Reavell is still landing more, and cleaner shots with the leaping hook and with the right hand. 10-9 Reavell (30-27)
Round 4: Axe finally finds the range with the jab, and scores reasobly well to the body, Reavell does land a coupe of rights toward the end of the round and nearly steals it back. But Axe generally did the better work so I think I'll put him on the board. 10-9 Axe (39-37 Reavell).
Round 5: Reavell seems determined to right the ship and spends most of the round bouncing jabs and lead left hooks off Axe's face, Axe not nearly as accurate and looks busted up and a bit distressed at points throughout the round. The corner or ref might want to consider calling it if he suffers another round like this. 10-9 Reavell (49-46 Reavell)
Round 6: Pace slows and Reavell isn't nearly as dominant but he still is more accurate and has Axe backing up for most of the frame. Lands yet another left hook to seal the round (59-55 Reavell)
Round 7: Axe gets home with a couple of hooks; Reavell's slowing down, though he still generally is controlling from the outside. Still, Axe's shots were cleaner this round, so I'm gonna give him a full share and call this even. 10-10. (69-65 Reavell)
Round 8: Axe remains determined and lands a nice combo upstairs and consistently to the body and with the jab throghout the frame. Reavell does continiue to land with some flashy counters but I think I'll give Axe another round. 10-9 Axe (78-75 Reavell on my card)
Ref scores the fight 77-76 for...Brad Axe!? That's...one for the robbery channel. I don't see any way that you can give Axe more than three rounds, let alone of four and a share of another.
@PopPellegrino You're watching this. Was I missing something? The commentators seems perplexed by the decision, too.
I will say that Reavell did kind of take his foot off the gas a bit late, so this might be on him but...yeah, not great. Axe seems a quality lad, though. No ill will toward him.
