I'd rather shed a tear for Nuts TV than setanta, nuts had a lot of good live german coverage and also repeats from back in the day and it was free!

Setanta started off well in 2007 and with the haye-macc show, as a freeview customer I felt cheated by them, lots of their live stuff was shown only on setanta 2 which freeview customers don't have. Then FW took his shows elsewhere which means setanta showed very little for freeviewers, the only promoter they had a deal with in the UK was hayemaker and their shows weren't exactly frequent. Prior to the demise of setanta i was going to cancel anyway due to the lack of boxing coverage for freeviews so personally i don't miss it at all as I would have cancelled anyway.

the boxing hour was good - however to a freeviewer subsribed it was on at a time when i couldn't watch it due to work, i think the times was a about 4pm then it kept getting pegged back to 3pm or something so that was off limits too.

i think its easy to look back with rose tinted glasses and all that, but after a good start setanta started going rapidly downhill - for freeview subscribers anyway. I don't really think I got my money's worth in boxing terms for all that I shelled out from Oct 07 to June 09. I didnt subscribe to it for any other sport.

Setanta did an excellent job overall on delivering top international matches. I do miss the channel. Also they didnt do the pay per view thing for certain matches, sure you could say you had to pay to have it but you also do for Sky sports as well

They didn't get that many fights towards the end. Other than Top Rank they went months without a fight at times and Buncey did the old 'boxing guardian angel' routine without getting the fights from time to time

Bunce actually got fights on our demand, I think Marquaez-Diaz was one of them and one or two others he fought to get them.

    I haven't forgot.
