Years ago I posted about a friend of mine Chris Truman going pro. He's got Conor Benn next

11-0 in total . In total. Conor is at total beginner level...that's total amateur beginner level, Einstein, in case you missed that. How good was Lomachenkos 12th ever opponent? Hmmmm?

He comes across as pleasant to me. He was thrown in at the deep end from the start in terms of big bills in front if big crowds etc. Can't be easy for such a young inexperienced kid. Most guys get a chance to learn their trade quietly, away from the limelight....not Conor. He is doing well for a complete novice IMO.

his really not his making his name off beating part time fighters with really padded records and they have a terrible chin and no power and as soon as he fights a fighter that has a little bit power and a average chin he struggles badly

We're talking about a professional boxer here! You've used Lomachenko as an example, so okay.. Lomachenkos 11th fight was defending a world title at a second weight against an undefeated P4P fighter :) pro and amateur can't be compared

Connor Benn does not get off the hook because he chose to bypass the amateur and turn pro. He turned pro for the money and fame. Without his 2nd name people would be more outraged than they are at the placement and treatment he gets.

Conor Benn, is that the guy Sky included in their KO of the year poll?
    They are pushing him hard.

Top end amateurs are much better than entry level pros.
I said lomas 11th fight in his life not lomas 11th pro fight ...anyway loma is not a fair comparison, you'll agree.
Of course he is boxing for money and fame....why else would anyone do it? I think it is the profile he gets that annoys people, but that's unavoidable given his Surname, in fairness.

Even if he doesn't succeed I say fair play to him for giving it a real good go. People don't have to love him, but there's no need to knock him.

Can't be easy to try to learn your trade in the full glare of the spotlight. All his mistakes open to full view etc.
Sky must be getting some positive feedback about him to be going all in on him like this....or is sky judgement really that bad?
They must see some potential in him.
What are people in the trade, the trainers and boxers in the gyms saying?
