The HBO commentating crew, especially Lederman, is biased on which fighter they prefer. I was watching Mosley-Mayorga a while ago and during round 3, a round in which Mayorga was agressive and hit Mosley a couple of times although not clean hits, was given to Mosley due to one clean punch landed in that round. One clean punch by Mosley and that was it yet the round was given to Mosley. I guess HBO loves Shane Mosley. After seeing this fight, I remembered the first round between JMM-Pac in their 2nd fight. Marquez landed a clean punch in that round whereas Pac landed a couple of shots though they were not that flush, the first round was given to Pac for being agressive. I guess HBO loves Pac hence Lederman gave that round to Pac. Lederman is a ****ing joke. I dont know why the hell that guy is still allowed to score fights.
shane mosley defeating mayorga gives them the oppurtunity to make millions of dollars with a fight against berto or margarito. Mayorga winning doesn't do anything for HBO.
They tend to score fights for the 'house fighter' - he had Hatton Mayweather 86-84 in Floyd's favour, whilst I had it 88-82..... If there is no designated house fighter (as above) they tend to favour the Golden Boy fighter - Hatton was the GBP man in this instance, whilst Mosley was against Mayorga. There is the odd exception - he scored Pac vs JMM 115-112 to Pac (absurd IMO - best I could give him was 114-113 being generous).
Does HBO favor any Top Rank fighters as well? We dont get HBO commentating here in the Philippines so I dont get to watch an HBO feed. I only get to watch an HBO feed in youtube.
Yeah, I only remember Kessler Calzaghe, him scoring it 110-118, ridiculous. But who was the ****** that scored the Hatton Tszyu fight? That was completely off.
Calzaghe won that a lot more comfortably I feel as he did against Hopkins. How would you alter the Hatton-Tszyu fight then? I thought it was fairly close but it was clear ricky was on top. Didn't matter in the end though did it?
