I believe it was someone who doesn't like PBF that started the thread. If he had not questioned the purses, I doubt they would have been brought up.

I don't think that Floyd has anywhere near as much money as he pretends to but he has a pretty well documented $1 million per fight deal with HBO.

No doubt he has Oscar to thank for his biggest payday and raising his stock (which is why he chased Oscar like a puppy for a rematch of a lame ass fight) but I think you have to give Floyd some of the credit for those numbers. Oscar didn't come close to those kind of PPV numbers even when he fought other big draws like Trinidad, Mosley and Vargas or the top p4p guy at the time (hopkins)

Can't say that for sure just yet. GUys have made more money than Floyd and still ended up broke (mike tyson, MC Hammer). The way he spends it who knows.

It was. People don't give Floyd any credit when events do well but he was not lying when he said it on 24/7.

Oscar, Gatti, Judah, and now Hatton have all gotten their biggest payday against him. You have to give him soem credit for that.

His stock never dropped as far as Antonio MArgarito's did. And people still want to see MArgarito in big fights. So Floyd would have been alright.
The net worth is estimated at 150 million also

The reason Mayweather makes money is because he wisely picks the fights and fighters with the biggest fanbases and money making potential.Reason DeLaHoya /Mayweather fight made so much was largely to do with 24/7 programme and the fact it was Oscar's first hyped super fight in some years.Gatti DeLaHoya and Hatton all have one thing in common, huge followings. If Mayweather could make the same $$$ fighting lesser fighters I'm sure he would but he doesn't have the fan base. You have to give credit to him tho,DeLaHoya then Hatton in the same year is a pretty impressive looking CV,even if he does fight only just doing enough then he still wins and that the bottom line in sport.

I see a lot of people losing credibility in this forum, more and more often these days, it seems.

Sure his stock dropped, but only to the fans that don't no **** about boxing. I say once again the Baldo fight was a masterful performance. Don't be mad at Floyd, be mad at Baldo for not bringing his A game.
