what does that have to do with this thread? I take it dont disagree with what I said?

Why wasn't Floyd cleaning up the sport before Pacquiao came along? You all know it's all bull****. Floyd only does testing because he has to or else he looks like an idiot / hypocrite for trying to make pacquiao do it.

So you are saying that Pac didn't accept the fight because his feelings were hurt and his 'image damaged', although his PPV sales and gate attendance didn't go down whatsoever?

I'm not glossing over anything.. Yes Pac agreed to take the tests, after 3 negotiations? Now if I were like a Pac fan I'd say he waited until he knew he could fight without PEDS in his system... And you know what, you'd have no argument against that because it's no other reason he decided to agree years later, except 'he wanted to make the fight finally'. :rofl

Pac was the ONLY fighter who has ever been required to do OSDT all the way up to the day of the fight.

Floyd turned pro in 96, yet only wanted his testing to be done in 2009?

If Floyd wanted Manny to be tested, he should have gone about it in a different way, like what he's doing now.

Maybe If Manny hadn't been accused, backed into a corner, and had demands thrown at him, maybe he'd have agreed to all of the tests straight away.

Why can't you take that on board?

He agreed to them all in the end.

If you slander someone and throw demands around, they're going to dig their heels into the ground.

I can kinda see your point. I just hate that the possible biggest fight in history never happened over petty bull ****. Mayweather was clearly spooked by what Pacquiao had accomplished in the ring and started making accusations first and foremost. If the fight went into negotiations and those accusations hadn't started already who knows if Pac would have agreed right away. The thing is, people assume Pac was on PEDs simply because the Mayweathers said so. Pac and Mayweather were at the exact same weight when Pac turned pro and Floyd was still an amateur. Why does it look odd of Pacquiao beating the likes of Oscar and Cotto when Floyd was beating the same men and actually walking down some of the bigger, stronger fighters? All I know is, one of the greatest boxers of the modern age was nervous to fight Pacquiao. Their is no way to spin it. Mayweather himself admitted as much. I thought it was just as much a coward move to make accusations as it is not to bow down to every demand from that fighter making the accusations.

you seem to be OK with manny waiting 3 years and 2 losses for finally agreeing to testing. when the fight meant nothing.

the hell is wrong with you :patsch

I can 'take that on board'. I'm just waiting for you to say as a boxing fan you accepted Manny refusing to take the strictest testing that could be negotiated before a fight, because his feelings were hurt and his 'image damaged' although he didn't lose any PPV sales or gate numbers.

After that, nothing need be said. We have different standards as boxing fans.. I can't accept that as a reason to not take the tests, I'm assuming you can.

    Divi253,

But publicly slandering someone and demanding things, is not really NEGOTIATING with someone is it. Would you want to deal with a guy who behaved like that?

He did AGREE in the end, and in my honest opinion, he'd have agreed straight away if he hadn't have originally been put on the defensive.

You're making out as though Floyd asked for certain things. Floyd didn't ASK for ****.

What makes you sure that we'd have had a fight if Manny had've agreed to everything in the first place?

After everything had been agreed, he made a ridiculous demand with the PPV.

That tells me that Floyd would always have found something that he wasn't happy with.

I agree it sucks the fight didn't happen over the strictest drug testing that can be negotiated before a fight not being accepted. We don't know if Pac would have agreed.. What we do know is his camp stated from the get go the testing wouldn't be an issue, and years later it still was.

Most people assume Pac was on PEDS because he refused to take the tests without cutoff, as that's far more reason to question him than someone accusing him of cheating. People accused Donaire of cheating because of Conte so he decided to take the strictest testing he could put himself though. He was left alone after accepting the testing. I applaud Donaire for his response, as I'd expect that from any professional prize fighter.

I think it was the way Pac was beating the fighters.. He went up in weight and stopped Oscar and Cotto while showing great stamina, speed and power. Floyd lost power when he went up as most fighters do, he thought Pac was a little too strong and fast after going up in weight.
