Yes or No: It seems that the only way for JMM to win against PAC is...

I think JMM would have gotten the nods if he didn't kiss the canvass both times in the two fights.

Morales did not win 10 clear rounds versus Pac but he obviously won that fight.

And the difference between Morales and JMM is that Morales in the first fight proved he can both handle Pac's power and outbox him, while JMM only proved he can outbox Pac but he has great difficulty in handling his power, hence the numerous KDs.

Morrisey, when you look at it from a boxing scoring perpective, you make absolutely zero sense.

You deduct points for the knockdowns of course. Those rounds are Pacs....JMM could'nt handle the power or whatever you like to call it....score those rounds as such.

What we have from a boxing scoring perspective in which judges should abide by but apparently dont, is that you still have to score the rounds to one fighter or another when the knockdowns dont occur.

What about all the rounds that JMM was not knocked down in?
He handled Pac's power in those rounds just fine.

What is coming down to is you and others implying that JMM should'nt get subsequent rounds that followed a knockdown, which is erroneous in any type of boxing scoring system, amatuer or pro!

Let me give some of you guys who are not educted enough in the scoring system a tip.
When a fighter is knockdown, you dont assume that he's lost the previous rounds or the rounds to follow.
You score each round individually....which is why each official judge must turn in a scorecard at the end of each round.

You dont sum up at the end of a fight that fighter A beat fighter B because fighter A scored a knockdown.
You got to tally up each round that you scored, which was 12 complete rounds in the JMM-Pac fights.....
......and if you do that, as each judge should professionally do, unless you're dishonest, you dont come up with a scorecard that reads Manny Pacquiao as the winner, specifically and especially the last fight in which the knockdown disparity was 1 point, and not 3 as it was in their first fight!

His best way to win would be actually to win a fight. Pac in my estimate has won both fights.

JMM needs to stop trying to counter so much and see if he can actually beat Pac. JMM never learns his lessons in close fights the edge goes to the guy actually trying to make a fight not the guy constant waiting to counter the other guy.

I agree..I thought the fight would settle once and for all win or lose who the winner should and would be. Guess not...

I am afraid you are not getting the point here, Divac.

The point here, is knockdowns, espcially in a close fight, are very important.

Why do you think there was no controversy in the first fight of Morales and Pac? Because Morales proved he can outbox and handle Pac's power convincingly. And he didn't win 10 rounds to beat Pac, eh.

Not so with JMM, in both fights. You can argue forever that it was a schooling, but overall, it was a difficlut fight for him. Far from an impressive showing. He only proved in those two fights that he was susceptible to Pac's sneaky left hooks and he can be knocked down, if he is careless. And the two fights, in general, proved that they are almost equal. (Well, Pac officially won the second:yep , but I'd say they offset one another's skills and talents)

Anyway, I know how to score fights, no need to elaborate on that. :fire :D

Newb, I registered here years ago because I like talking boxing.....out in the real world and in the streetsthere are'nt many of us that follow the sport closely enough to intelligently hold a conversation on the sport of boxing.

If you dont like talking about it, why the hell did you register in this forum?

.....and if you did so and spend your minutes here in a different subforum, get the hell out of this thread and go find a thread that suits your intelligence better!

Last time I checked, this was a boxing forum!:huh

    :hey  :yep

possibly.. pac should have won the first fight if it werent for a judges scorecard error.. jmm might be a great technician and counter-puncher, but pac gets the best shots resulting with jmm kissing the canvas.. only way for him to win is not to get hit..

... the only way to WIN is to WIN in the JUDGES DECISION period!!!!
....not your view or my view.. too bad those does not count!!!!

At the end of the day its the JUDGES DECISON which counts!!! Now at the of the fight if one of the judge admits he made a mistake! Then whoever benefited from the mistake is LUCKY!!!

It's ok! it does not happen everyday!!!!

One's things for sure, you don't get bet the #2 p4p for being LUCKY!!!
