Manny definitely has a chance. Speed is the key. He will be coming in at essentially the same weight he came in during his last several fights---i'd say in the high 140's @ around 6% bodyfat. He will be fighting in the same lightweight speed against a natural junior middle who will be coming down to 147. Pac won't be thaaat much smaller, however, he will be thataaat much faster. At most I'd say Hoya will have a 10-15lb weight advantage. See where I'm getting at? The speed and quickness advatage will be all on Pac's side. If u think Hoya will have the same effectiveness landing against Pac as he did against the Mayorgas of the world than think again.Pac who's been accustomed to guys with superfeatherweight handspeed of the lkes of Marquez and Morales will be dealing with a middleweight who has above average speed at that weight at best. I mean MAB with his vaunted left hook couldn't land **** and they were fighting at 130 during the rematch. You think Hoya could land his with any regularity? That jab? Pac have dealt with much faster jabs in fights prior and not to mention his sparring with Amir Khan who has piston speed jabs.

And for those who say Pac will fight the same way, u guys are seriously underestimating Pac's ringsmarts. I'd venture to say Roach's fight plan entails alot of movement and boxing early.....and controlled aggression late. Do u guys really think Pac will go toe-to-toe with a guy so much bigger than him? No its gonna be very cautious at the beginning, just alot of movement and trying to win rounds by boxing at the first few rounds. He would probably let Oscar chase and let him swing at air and selectively potshot then once Hoya starts gassing out, Pac won't necessarily have to press harder on the gas...it would only seem like it coz Pac can fight for 15 rounds while Hoya can only fight for 7. But expect Pac to be more aggressive the less effective and even slower Hoya gets in the later rounds.

Not saying Pac has a great chance to win...but he definitely has a chance. He's a live dog in this one, and if his gameplan works out early in the fight, then I expect Pac to have a great chance to pulll this one out late.

This was my longest analysis of the fight...I didn't quite call the KO, but the fight followed my script pretty much how I envisioned it.

What's the point of all these old threads?
Yes, Pac was a huge underdog but most people also said Pavlik would ko Hopkins. It happens, the underdogs sometimes create major upsets. Move on.
