you know, maybe, just maybe lombard wants to make a name for himself in the ufc and comes out slugging...that could be interesting

 

I think we should rename Stann to Stand.

I like Stann this fight standing up.

If Lombard gets him down I don't think he gets back up.

The thing is, Lombard isn't half bad himself standing up. His style actually sort of reminds me of Stann's. Thing is, I get the feeling Stann can eat one of Lombards big shots. I don't think Lombard can eat what Stann has to offer, but he can always fall back on his bjj should he end up on his back with Stann trying to follow up with gnp..

I really, really don't like Stann's chances on his back. I'm rooting for this to be a standup war, S. Paw vs. Orthodox! Same style fireworks!

 

This is a fight fans dream card. Those 2 fights should display nothing but sheer violence.

 

Imagine how hungry Shogun is right now, but I wonder how much long term damage he suffered from the last two fights. We all know how tough he is, but old injuries as well as wear and tear add up.

I have been saying for years that Lombard was the only man in MMA that could test Anderson Silva... I am sold that he is the complete MMA package. Along with Gegard Mousasi, Lombard can beat one of the two "unbeatable" champions.



However, Mousasi needs wrestling.

 

I think he said something about training in america for his next fight so hopefully we'll see some improvement in his wrestling.

 

Stanns striking is overated

 

No. And no. And forget about Mousasi's wrestling. He needs to start with a TDD. Its virtually non-existent.

 

The only thing I could say for Stann is that he's a lot bigger than Lombard. That could make it difficult for Hector to get inside for throws/striking.

 

Yeah, Stann does have fight changing power in the clinch, but he's slow as **** so he'd be on his ass before he could get off more than one anyway

 

So Lombard has one 1 punch power, physically alot stronger, faster, and a better takedown game than Anderson Silva, yet you believe he CANT test him?? atsch

 

Lombard is a blown up middle weight can crusher on steroids. Silva will do whatever he wants to him.
