There was nothing special about it...All he did was run around in circles and throw a double jab. And didn't follow that up with any real power shots. In fact, I watching the fight thinking...when was the last Southpaw you've seen without a Left Hook...Cuz' it was there ALL NIGHT and NEVER threw it ONCE!!! Martinez is NICE, but nothing SUPER SPECIAL...He just had more skill than Pavlik...Far more actually!!!
I didn't really pay attention to it in the fight against Pavlik, but to say he doesn't have one is wrong. You only have to look at his fight against Paul Williams.
What was the punch that opened up Kelly on the right side, a left hook or a straight? I can't remember.
OK Dbooty... Stop speaking for all the Pav fans. You have to know by now that some of them have said some ridiculous **** before and after this fight.:good
So it isn't "fair" to counter balance the Mr. Sue's, Wish I had aces, etc...? Why isn't they don't seem to whup up some sympathy for Pavlik? One way street isn't it?
Kelly just needs the right opponent in front of him. If he fights Antonio Margarito he could get a nice knockout. That is the opponent he needs, someone he can line up and land his big right on. Although I don't know what the losses to Hopkins and Martinez have done to Kelly's confidence. I do know that my favorite fighter Hearns used losses and motivated himself even more and won more titles. Some guys take losses better than others. Hearns took them well and a guy like Curry did not. It shows greatness to take them well.
