Exactly. And boring. Two guys charge at each other and then roll around on the ground for five minutes. It is mind-numbingly DULL to watch. I will never understand how anyone can find that sort of silliness entertaining.

Our top fighter in any weightclass would never be beaten by a reality Tv star. Just wouldn't happen.

Yeah but if you go for the KO's, then you're basically back to the essence of boxing.

    Manfredo - Forrest?

Granted he wasn't the top fighter but he was WBC champion.

Oh yeah, street fights between world class boxers and MMA fighters break out all the time. It's almost reaching epidemic proportions.

I bet Tim Lincecum could strike out Lance Armstrong in a streetball game...

This is true only if the fight goes to the ground, but if you're someone like Lidell who is good at take down defense and sprawls, then the boxer can keep it on the feet and win.

The thing about MMA is that you'll never know who's gonna win. Sometimes all it takes is one lucky punch like Matt Serra over GSP 1. And sometimes all you need to do is lay and pray your opponent for the win! There are lucky punches in boxing but I think it's more skill than luck. So I think boxing is more competitive.
