First off you bandwagon cotto fan, canelo wanted to fight cotto in december but cotto choose not to wait to see if canelo beat a ww lopez in which cotto will now face trout in december. Second off how is the wbc protecting canelo from cotto if the wbc force canelo to fight the winner of lara vs vanes? :?

This. As long as the WBC forces him to fight the Lara/Martirosyan winner I have no problem with this. Everyone just needs to be patient, the Cotto fight'll happen...in September. I guess a Cotto/K-9 matchup is inevitable in 2013 then...

this is the esb forums where the majority of people have boxing iqs under 90 and just dont understand the sport.

no champions, past or present , are currently giving any accolades to canelo for the reasons that you have mentioned.

right now, the best that you can give canelo from his past fights is a jmw poor-mans version of tommy morrison. they basically have the same fighting style(plodding, winging punches with no true one-punch KO power). although morrison faltered against top competition he showed that he was durable(lewis/hipp) and had heart. that remains to be seen for canelo.

imo, anyone(true 154 and not cotto or pbf) with a good jab(lara) will give canelo problems.

once canelo finds out that he cant bully esrilandy and that lara is going to step right into his guard and shoot straight lefts at him well find out what saul has.
