Taylor has sooo much physical potential, yet doesn't live up to his genetic gifts.

He has speed, power, accuracy, size, range, etc - but can't seem to put it all together and show the world what he is truly capable of.

I think, first of all, that he should have listened to Manny in the first place and never have switched trainers. Maybe he should look for another trainer, and really focus on the things that he seems to be coming up short with - like stamina, and keeping that damn left hand up.

If you were his manager/advisor - what would you have him do next?

I know many will say "just retire - he's done".. but the fact remains that he still has his natural skills and potential, but he needs a big change.

His power, size and range have gone at SMW,power was never there anyway.
He should take a Brinkley type fight and then another big one.

What's wrong with him?? He just wasn't as good as the HBO suits wanted people to believe. They got him a couple bogus "wins" against Hopkins, but he's pretty much been getting exposed ever since.

If I were his friend and he listened to me I would tell him to take a break of 6 months to a year and think hard about what style he wants to perfect and not just go in there just to win rounds, but go in with a fight plan. Jermain has to work on defense because a man does not fall in the 12th if he is not being hit by something. So defense and stamina are obviosly connected and his jab I would work on with the defense. If he perfects his jab he can avoid getting hit with the punches. The counter punches will come if he perfects that stuff. I would try one more time and see if he can win a title, if he cannot then he should pack it in. I like Taylor. I am sad he lost. But he has a flaw somewhere now. Do not know if he is depleted from all those hard fights or if a flaw has been found. A little of both.

I'm wondering a new trainer wouldn't bring an improvement. JT just seemed vacant at about the half-way point, just waiting for it to be over - with a few counter punching opportunities thrown in. I think a good trainer would find a way to motivate him, push whatever buttons in his head that get him back in the game. He was staring off into space in between rounds, and I didn't hear anything coming from Nelson except generic advice to use up the time JT's demons have always seemed mental more than anything and it doesn't appear to me that Nelson is addressing that.

Taylor can't fight inside, and that is his downfall. You can't learn now to fight inside at age 30. If Taylor loses to another elite fighter, he should retire.

Boxing is about adapting and making adjustments .If after a close loss in a title fight people are willing to write him off then some of you should not watch boxing ..I love it how there are so many experts after a guy loses !!

His stamina is woeful. He knocked down Froch in round 3 remember, so he has to be doing something right.

I dno't know if stamina can be taught, but if it can, he needs to work on it. If so, he can beat anyone at that weight because of his boxing ability.
