The 2011 World Amateur Champion and frighteningly hard punching Ukrainian Middleweight Yevhen Khytrov has unexpectedly turned pro. His debut will be December 18th in NY on a Dmitry Salita undercard in a 8 round 168lb fight. He'll be working with Buddy McGirt and signed with little known promoter Fight Promotions.

He won his Gold medal by beating 2012 Olympic Champion Ryoto Murata and scored a KO victory over 2013 World Amateur Champion Alimkhanuly earlier this year among his notable victories. I honestly have never seen an amateur boxer score legitimate knockdows and knockouts against fellow world class compitition as often as Khytrov and that includes Golovkin or Kovalev. The only other guy who was similar is Artur Beterbiev who is a 2-0 pro LHW fighting out of Montreal with GYM now. Youtube his fights with Murata and Juratoni if you want a look.

Anyone have any info of Fight Promotions? Signing with such a minor promoter worries me a little as does working with McGirt tbh although hopefully Buddy can help raise his profile. In a perfect world i would want to see Yevhen working with Able Sanchez.
