Man, you've been peppering Marquez' face with quick shots in the third fight. I watched this replay to death and cannot emphasize the needed power to be effective. More power to finally put him down.

Marquez' face got swollen and blue by your quick combos and counters (yes counters!) but his Threshold for Pain was greater than Pacquiao's punches, he shook it off and countered you ever so masterfully.

Manny what you needed to add more was POWER not quickness! :patsch

Kind of worrisome. I assumed they would have gone back to the full plyometrics regimen and dumbell/barbell exercises they were doing during Cotto, after the disappointing result of the last fight.

I think it's easier to get by with that old school "no heavy strength training in camp" mentality when you're younger, or if you have a fat Buboy Fernandez in your camp, but you do need to hit the weights to stay fast and powerful when you hit your thirties.

I'm officially having doubts to go with Pac on this 4th installment.

Maybe the fat Buboy Fernandez hates so much to lift weights or just hates Alex Ariza.

Manny looks skinny and muscles are flat, very unlike the new rubber-like muscles he donned during the Cotto fight.

Don't ****in shun the weight training! That's a must for every athlete, or any athlete for that matter!

Even Floyd regularly does pull-ups with 25 pounds on his legs. He religiously uses 40 pounds on his neck raises and 8 pound dumbells when he fatigue-trains for jabs.

Even your idol Bruce Lee had used the precursor to the nautilus machines and did squats, leg curls and even lat-machined 300 lbs in sand bags!

This is all wrong for Pacquiao. Believe me.

And I don't want any smart-alecky poster ******* to say "Hey Frekky, you obviously did not do boxing, just stick to weightlifting" as I'm pretty sure I can knock out 99% of posters here in a real boxing match.

That being said, let Pacquiao fans pray his power still remains in his bone structure and technique, which i highly doubt will trouble Marquez whom I've seen train.

    Marquez by Unanimous Decision. :good

Pac is not using Ariza's weight training regiment. He's back to calesthenics, some pylometrics and boxing specific.

    That's how it should be.

And Frekky, it seems you don't know **** about boxing and should stick to weightlifting if you think weights are necessary.

Boxing is a skill sport. It's about agility and speed. Pacquaio has natural power. He doesn't need a lot of strength to push Marquez around because if Marquez plays that game and tries to roughhouse Pacquaio, he gets Hattoned.

He don't look that skinny to me, he just appears soft, like he just rolled out of bed and feel he could waltz into this fight:verysad

Soft? Really? What guy who is "Soft" has a six pack?
he has looked a bit soft in his last couple of fights, but he looks fantastic now. he does look thinner, but I see nowhere he's soft.
I think lifting weights helps with whatever sport your in. Hard to deny that weight lifting is beneficial when it seems 90% of Olympic athletes incorporate weight training now, and are shattering new records all the time.
As for Manny.. Don't think it matters that much though. He knocks out guys with blazing speed not raw power. I'm interested to see how he looks.
