YIKES!! Really slow month for boxing

  1. Man, just looked at ESPN's fight schedule and it is not pretty for the next month. I'm depressed.

Yeah this sucks. The next big event is the HBO BAD card on Jan. 23. Before that, there's Miranda vs Stieglitz but I'm not too excited.

Painfully slow. Didn't know Miranda was fighting though. Win or lose he can be pretty exciting to watch.

  4. ****, at least I have NFL to watch and college bowl games. But, still, I didn't think the boxing landscape was this barren for the next month.

    :good

Got a couple career sets myself that I haven't sat down and watched yet, looking forward to it. December was almost TOO busy for me, boxing-wise. Blasphemy, I know, but it's true... my gf was starting to get pissed off until I told her "January is slow!".

Who cares, we got college bowl games, the end of the NFL season, and the NBA getting into full gear.

    A break is fine.

Happens every year, apparently boxing fans can't watch fights during the holidays or even during the worthless winter Olympics.

    Lame.

It's not that bad, remember it's post holidays.

    - Stieglitz-Miranda to start the year
    - the Japanese card looks promising, both Poonsawat-Hosono and Salgado-Uchiyama are high quality fights
    - There's the double knockdown rematch of Samuels-Renda lol
    - Clottey-Rosales as Top Rank/FOX Espanol's debut show
    - Gamboa-Mtagwa and Luevano-Lopez on the 23th
    - Kubrat Pulev (4-0) fights Oleg Platov (28-1) & Helenius (10-0) faces Brewster (35-5) in Germany
    - Mosley-Berto and Johnson-Mack on HBO

Not the busy month we used to, but it's still a lot of fun.

A decent card can cap off a great week. Its a shame that they couldnt get some nice cards going. 2010 overall should be a pretty good year in the fight game.:rasta

It's never slow for boxing if you watch some old fights. I have so many windows of youtube fights below my screen I haven't watch yet so January will help me see them all.
