I really expected Pacquiao vs Crawford to be Pac's next fight. I don't know why we're doing Pacquiao vs Vargas. Is it just to get a belt on the line for the Crawford fight?
I think they're going to end up fighting next year, probably not in their next fights but possibly toward the end of the year I believe.
Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Vargas has the WBO welterweight strap. Crawford has the WBO junior welterweight strap. It's not uncommon for organizations to sanction a fight between two champions of neighboring weights who both hold the same organization's belt. That's how Crawford got a quick shot at the Junior Welter WBO title, since he was already the WBO lightweight champ. Come to think of it, Lomachenko is a WBO champ too. Bob might have some pull with the organization.
You know, if they don't want to pit Pacquiao vs Crawford next, the Thurman vs Garcia unification is coming up in March. Pacquiao could fight the winner and unify the whole division.
I keep thinking that Crawford vs Broner at junior welter would be a perfect fit if it wasn't for rival promotions. If the Cotto fight falls through, I wouldn't mind Crawford vs Bradley either.
because crawford would win and pac is not trying to be a showcase for anyone. don't get me wrong i would watch it but that's just my take.
