I think certain fighters tend to perform better if they feel that they're being marginalized in some fashion, and Floyd might well be one of those fighters. Floyd as a person has merits and flaws just like the rest of us, but I tend to think that some of the flaws that are on display (the endless stream of self-promotion, and the denigration of an opponent's abilty) might be a way to motivate himself to compete to the very best of his abilty...And, as a fan, I'd rather see that and put up with the bravado then see him give a lacklustre performance due to complancency.

That kind of segues back to the topic of the thread. Yeah, as a fan of Floyd I was a bit nervous watching the second round, because when SSM has a round like that he generally finishes the fight, or at the very least carries the momentum into the remaining rounds. That didn't happen, and I think that in part of that was Floyd's anger abvout being taken out of his comfort zone. If you do that, he'll do everything he possibly can to try and restore a dynamic to the fight that suits him best, and that might have been why he was able to take the play away from SSM so thouroughly in the very next round. Hell, that might be one of the factors that makes him such a great fighter in general.

I was concerned, not that PBF would fold as many thought he would, but that Shane would finish him. The overhand right was a by product of the first straight right that Mosley connected with. The second right was more looped and not as forceful or precise as the first. The first right hand weakened PBF causing the reaction from the second right hand.

    Bumpity Bump...

Damn, just watched it again. Those were two good-ass shots!!! A lesser fighter would have at least went down.
