How much would you ride Floyds ball sack if he was rocked by Torres and Corley, barely squeaking out decisions against Malignaggi and Ndou, or having to run from a fighter 8 years his senior and barely winning? Would you love him then?
This is nothing. I actually saw one Floyd hater refer to him as a "prodigy" as if he wasnt 30 years old, been fighting for a decade and copped 6 belts. :rofl
I'm not a floyd hater. I just don't respect a fighter who claims to be better than Sugar Ray Robinson who makes a career off fighting Old Gatti, Journeyman Baldomir, B level Judah, A Junior welterweight who Collazo almost stopped, B level Corrales, losing to Castillo and then getting revenge, and last but not least, winning a close but clear decision against inactive old Hoya. Let's not go down the whole "having to run from a fight 8 years his senior and barely winning" road. Mayweather runs in all his fights.
Cotto is a great guy. He never talks ****, puts 100% in to his fights and doesn't have his own ref unlike some guy named Mayweather. Mayweather is a great fighter but he is an ass and so are his fans.
Old Gatti? Gatti was 31 years old, pretty much the same age Floyd is now. Gatti had just defended his belt twice against former world champions, one undefeated dropping both before the 6th round. Journeyman moron? Baldomir hadnt lost a fight in 7 years and just beat Zab Judah for the lineal welterweight crown. Do you know what a journeyman is? Hatton was top 10 p4p at the time. And since his near defeat to Collazo, he beat 1 former champions and 1 current world champion He never lost to Castillo. The fight he nearly did lose was with a torn rotator cuff. De La Hoya was only 4 years older then Mayweather, and from those who know boxing, Mayweather dominated the fight, both in clean punching and power shots. Mosley was 36, Cotto 27, they hit eachother the same amount of times, with mosley being the more active fighter. Where did he run against Chavez? Corely? Ndou? Corrales? Gatti? Hatton? Judah Thats a pretty bold statement. I'd like to see you back it up with some evidence?
If Floyd fought Shane like the much bigger and younger Cotto fought Shane, Floyd would have landed more 50% more punches then Shane, and the fight would not have been in question heading into the 12th.
PBF vs Shane would be a damn good fight. I give PBF the edge cuz of poor defence on Shane's part. But Shane will be cracking from beginning to end. I give PBF an edge on points but it won't be a cakewalk. Shane can pull an upset as he stays busy, can match speed, and has great power. He always sticks around till the end, unlike Zab. But Shane will be pushing Floyd back through the whole fight.
Well said. I think Floyd dominates a Cotto type fighter, I think Mosley gives him the most trouble at welter out of everyone.
Floyd wouldn't get any respect for beating those guys and his status as a great fighter is quickly diminished. Now I see Floyd fighting those guys en route to his first title shot.
