Tyron Zeuge vs. Baker Barakat, 10 rounds @ super middleweight

 

Round 1

Zeuge is lobbing in 1-2s and performing half-moons around Barakat in a light trot. Zeuge is planting right hands on the body when Barakat rushes in with forearms curled over his face looking to attack low. Zeuge is putting a looping right in behind the long probing jab while circling away. Barakat is doubled over with a straight downstairs and then hit and hurt with a left upper-hook. Barakat falls and beats the count, but the ref has a cut on his eye looked at. Three punch combo by Zeuge at the bell.

Round 2

Zeuge is pushing left jabs into Barakat's face, easily scoring from outside. Barakat tries bowing forward, ear muffs on. Barakat scrubs at the body, lunging with both hands, and telegraphs a big left hook up top. Zeuge steps back and counters with jabs and uppercuts while Barakat is tentatively dancing in. Zeuge is stepping to his right and crimping his left side to avoid the overhand right leads of Barakat. Zeuge is sticking light push-pole jabs out into Barakat's path, letting him walk onto them facefirst. Barakat is knocked out of step by a counter left hook. Barakat launches a big overhand right, caught on the dropped left shoulder of Zeuge.

Zeuge has officially failed to stop Barakat as quickly as Groves or Sartison.

 

After the bout in progress (likely to be halted shortly) will be the 12-round co-feature.

 

Round 3

Zeuge is controlling range with his jab, forking it out casually into Barakat's face while circling. Barakat is pushing ahead looking for a body shot or game-changing haymaker but can't find a way past the jab or the looping right Zeuge occasionally pairs up with it while stepping away. Barakat is pounding the body with lefts and rights in a wide arc hunching forward but can't build off those connections.

Round 4

Zeuge is throwing jabs and uppercuts, exacerbating the cut and swelling on Barakat's right eye. Barakat is leaning directly into shots as Zeuge takes aim from a relaxed stance on the outside. Barakat hacks at the body when he can but is countered with endless jabs on the eye and long uppercuts or hooks when Zeuge stops moving.

Round 5

Zeuge chops Barakat across the face with a right and causes him to stumble a bit. Barakat is backed up by a series of poking jabs. Zeuge is coming forward landing bunches of head-snapping jabs on the chin and then flitting away on his toes while Barakat marches in with underhanded body slaps.
