sprott clearly had both hands up and was looking the ref in the eye, the ref never asked him to walk forward or aynthing and just stopped the fight without giving a command.

Man, Brits really hate Poles, huh?

BoxNation hasn't even mentioned the fact that Masternak was on the card. They showed Britsch vs. Santos live, and then Sprott vs. Gerber on delay, and have spent all the filler time discussing British boxing or tonight's Vegas cards.

Meanwhile Polsat - covering the exact same card - is showing Masternak vs. Quinonero highlights every five minutes. :rofl

^ yeah that's weird I thought refs usually ask the fighter to show them their gloves or ask if the fighter can/wants to continue

    SO ****ING WHAT?

He got up at about five, and then turned his back and walked away while the count reached six, seven, eight before whirling around and lifting his arms.

You are playing with fire if you do that, and have only yourself to blame if the ref decides that means you're done.

Yeah, if the fighter is acting normally and not turning their back and walking all the way across the ring away from them and into a corner while the ref follows and counts at their back.

I think it's pretty criminal when refs are in deep with the promoters which we have seen on many many occasions. We can talk about professionalism from the fighters, but I see more cases of corruption and sleaze from the organisers on a regular basis. Not condoning what he did, but he's only human, he's in a fight so he's fired up already, he felt the ref wronged him and he lost his head. It wasn't premeditated and it wasn't out of malice. Just a silly moment where he lost it. No need for charges and **** like that.

^it's not like the ref said come to me, and Spott walked away. If the ref ordered Spott directly, and Spott didn't follow through, then calling the fight off makes sense

**wasn't the Taylor-Chavez fight stopped because the ref asked Taylor a direct request (if he could continue) and got no response/acknowledgement from Taylor

and wouldn't you consider the guy (Spott) fit and able to fight if he's up and walking?

just because the ref appears to have made a poor decision, with stopping the fight when the opponent appeared he could continue, doesn't mean you have to defend it

    :patsch It's common ****ing sense.

Do not walk away from the ref after springing to your feet. EVERY SINGLE BOXER IN THE WORLD knows this.

But he didn't look like he was out of it though. Still had his wits about him, enough to challenge the ref afterwards! therefore he wasn't done at that point. For me, it's a bad call by the ref IMO.

No. You beat the count, you stand pat and present your gloves to the ref and await his instructions. You don't start randomly staggering toward a corner across the ring.

no way, he got up early in the count and walked to the corer to clear his head...you said he did't show the ref he was in condition to continue the fight, but everyone knows that putting both hands up the way he did signifies that the fighter is ready to continue.b.s stoppage
