Because it's ****ing discretionary, you muppet. Some refs will and some won't wave it off if you walk away from them, but you open the door to them doing so any time you do anything but stand the **** still in front of them after reaching your feet.

It's not like stopping it was the only call or even the right call on Sigl's part in this particular situation, but it's certainly a defensible call and it isn't a stoppage given the circumstances that warranted anything CLOSE to Sprott's outburst.

Any time you get viciously dropped, your fate is in the ref's hands. If he sees anything amiss or that doesn't jive with his sensibilities, you could be on the receiving end of a TKO. Boxers needs to be aware of this, and have only themselves to blame if they fully turn their back and clear the entire ring to clear their head and it blows up in their face.
