Yoan Pablo Hernandez vs. Troy Ross & Dominick Britsch vs. Roberto Santos II RBR

Britsch vs. Santos II and Sprott vs. Gerber have both established a pattern tonight:

One guy outboxes the other for several rounds and then gets caught with a bomb. :think

That is not an altogether unlikely scenario here...

 

Round 1

Hernandez is dropping the right jab on Ross as he walks forward incrementally, keeping his stomach tucked in tight and his guard up high about his face. Ross tries to dart in with quick jabs and 1-2s to the body, but is wary and quick to back out. Hernandez takes a BIG left uppercut to the chest while trying to avoid the ropes by sidestepping with his gloves lowered. Left hand over the top by Hernandez. Ross is catching him in clinches and judo-tossing him around. The ref is having to get heavily involved in physically separating them. Hernandez comes chopping down with rights and lefts, and Ross rips a big right hook, grazing.

Round 2

Hernandez is smacking Ross in the gob with big right hooks stepping in. Ross tries to counter with his own hooks but is a second behind. Jab by Hernandez, dancing spryly back from Ross' counter jab. Everything Hernandez throws is landing quickly enough for him to clear out before Ross can answer. Left hands by Hernandez, and they connect simultaneously with right hooks as Hernandez ducks forward and Ross swoops up. Nice jab to the chest by Ross sailing in and then rolling out to the side behind a raised shoulder. BIG hammers from Hernandez, down on Ross' back. They hook their way out of a clinch and the ref gets between them and almost gets decapitated as both punch past him!! 1-2 under the armpit by Hernandez, knocking Ross back involuntarily. 1-1-2 by Ross into the guard, making Hernandez step back. Cuffing right hook by Hernandez, catching Ross in a clinch.
