Its great that you're trying it, but there is no reason to have mocked meditation, and don't bunch meditation with Asia, they are not the same.
Meditation before fighting helps me calm down and take my mind off the fight.

Actual Tai Chi takes years of practice and can be very advanced. There are classes at clubs like Body Balance, which is a cross between Yoga, Pilates and Tai Chi but they are **** compared to the actual forms.

Yeah, I hate that ****. Usually when they get all mushy and spiritual they have their eyes closed while they're instructing you. I take that as carte blanche to stare at them.

most people without a lot of knowledge on the meaning will bunch it together because its pretty well known that many asians meditate. its a big part of their religion. Meditating before a fight might be similar to the religious purposes but you are not doing it for religious purposes. you are just trying to get your mind off the flight. an asian has way more connections to meditating than a fighter has trying to get their mind off a fight.

Dude, just go to a proper yoga studio and pay the drop in rate. I wouldn't recommend doing it without instruction for the first bit. You want to get the right technique right off the bat so you don't learn bad habits, just like boxing.
