im not sure on his one, 118 maybe too much for Mares. Can he still make it to bantamweight? Remember this guy started at 122 pounds and undergo operation only to comeback and campaign at 118.

Dam, that fight is all wrong for a young guy like Mares. I wish him the best. Abner gots talent but Perez is a bull who likes to trade bombs and can take huge shots.

Abner's a great young talent but Yonnhy will be up in his ****. Unless this is another Lopez-Ponce De Leon shocker, it's a case of too much too soon.

I like Yhonny in this one but Mares looked great in his last fight.

Mares is a hype-job. A basic up-right boxer-puncher with no real substance to his approach. I've never seen anything in him. Zero ring generalship, non-existent defense, etc. He just doesn't strike me as a thinking fighter open to adapting. Perez isn't up to much himself, admittedly, but I figure he'll get in Mares's face enough to throw off his one-dimensional style and ruffle his feathers. Perez should be able to gain the upper hand relatively early this way, probably stopping him in the later rounds. I've been waiting for Mares to get exposed for a while now. I figure this jump up in competition will bring it about.
