You are being given 1 ticket to see any British post war boxer fight, who's it going be? Who would you choose to see? Not particular known fights, just to see that boxer fight.

*Consider that there opponents are all of the same high quality, and standard*

Don Cockell, you don't hear an awful lot about him. What was his style like?

    Joe Calzaghe of around 2000.

    Hamed 2nd choice.

I would choose to see Lennox Lewis in his pomp. That would have been brilliant to have witnessed him defending his title.

you dont want to see Calzaghe in January 2000 he had a absloute stinker of a fight with David Starie

Hamed defenitly the second choice after Lewis

Hamed against Tom Johnson would have been a good one

He's enjoying something of a renaissance at the moment, he's largely the forgotten man of post war British boxing, best remembered for his valiant losing effort to Rocky, had a couple of good wins over LaStarza and Kid Matthews, but this was after they were beaten by Marciano

Don't know much about his style, you cant glean much from the Marciano fight, very messy and Don is quite overweight in it.

Mainly picked him so I could see Marciano really:D

Randolph Adolphus ('Randy') Turpin - Anyone who can beat Sugar Ray Robinson and jack Dempsey's man (Don Cockell) is worth seeing!

I'm not thinking about a specific fight though. That is where I believe Joe was at his physical peak, 2000-2002. Any time between there

We all know he performs up to the level of his opponent, so for the purpose of this thread that would be my pick

I was thinking Wayne McCullough for guaranteed action, but Turpin is a very tempting option.

wasnt Calzaghes peak about 2005 - Jeff Lacy.

Calzaghe said himself in recent times he reckoned he would whoop the Joe Calzaghe of a few years ago

Now if we can pick the fight not just the fighter its a diferent story.
