To change the course of boxing history What would it be? Im tempted to give Langford a title shot because ive been chatting to one of his relatives recently, but im going for Taylor to get those extra few seconds vs Chavez
That the law/politicians/commissions have NOTHING to do with boxing. Just leave it alone. Let people make their own choices about what they do with their bodies. Let them have whatever rules they want. Let whoever fight whoever they want.
Langford deserved a title shot as much as anyone ,this would be a good call. Jeffries had fought Johnson in the time frame 05-06 ? Dempsey had fought Wills? Louis had retired after koing Walcott? I don't know how much it would have mattered to history, but it would have meant a lot to me if Ali had retired after Manilla and subsequently retained all his physical abilities.I will settle for that.
Excellent shout :good I am as big a Nigel Benn fan as you can get, but another one i was thinking about was for the ref to stop Benn in the Mclellan fight. I would have loved to have seen the G-man in the mix for at least a few more years.,
I agree with McGrain here. Though if i was drunk i'd probly end up reversing the outcome of the nunn kalambay fight instead.
A united boxing council! Where where there is not a myraid of abc title's but rather 1 per weight class, along with a criteria of set rules that are globally in place for every fight so that boxers are not negotiating their own set of rules for every fight! If it is just to make one match, give me Joltin' jeff chandler vs Lupe Pintor!
This is it, the problem with boxing is that it is not regulated. At least this is the problem for fans of boxing and for many fighters. But not for the suits at the top and not for the top fighters either, as they profit from a system that is so easily manipulated.
