You are not p4p #1 if you get dropped and almost stopped by an Uber driver

You said a complete unknown. Those were your words. Are you now adding variables to this? Like maybe saying that Uber driver was actually a ten year pro? This is the problem with posters like you. You carry no consistency at all...

Why does it really matter if a supposed #1 P4P fighter gets dropped from a not yet known fighter? Does that really automatically put their rankings down a notch just for that alone and now he can't make the #1 claim just because that happened?

P4P ranking is subjective at the end of the day but I think it's just so silly that the only thing that should keep Inoue from being ranked as #1 is because he got dropped by an underdog. Unexpected Rocky moments happen in boxing all the time. For all we know Cardenas could very well become a future world champion, like most past Inoue opponents ended up becoming after they fought him.

I'm not adding anything. Re-read the original post.

If Usyk fought a complete unknown HW and was a 100-1 favorite and got heavily dropped, he is no longer p4p #1.

It's clearly an emotionally charged topic for people. There are a lot of people who think Inoue is the best fighter in the sport. I am of the opinion that if your 100-1 stay busy showcase fight against a guy who has never fought for a title (and hasn't fought anyone who has) drops you and forces you into a war, you are no longer worthy of that lofty distinction.

Inoue is still a great fighter. I'm not saying he's not. He'll be a legend for decades to come. I'm saying he's not p4p #1.

    He didn't dominate four weightclasses.

Terrence Crawford has two wins in the last two years that are better than anything on Inoue's resume.

*yawn* P4P lists don't even mean anything realistically. Just fan-made ballhugging....

I'd call coming into a weight class and getting all the belts within a short time, just as dominant as a long reign. Swoop in, take out the top dogs, bounce to bigger things.

He didn't do much of anything at 112, he did okay at 118, and at 122 he hasn't fought MJ, who has been the best guy there since Inoue arrived.

You should feel deep shame if you're claiming that he dominated 115. Not even in the ballpark.

I mean, Wepner stepped on his foot, so it was a pretty dubious kd. Probably better to use the Banks or Cooper kd's as examples.

No one is emotional about this. Resorting to gaslighting is the tactic of a person losing a debate....

Callum Johnson is a massive puncher and that would put down almost anybody below Heavyweight. He's a very powerful man. Inoue fights in a weight class where guys eat nothing, but air. Big difference.
