You are not slipping/aging, when you perfrom like this against the skilled Gomez

Vitali isn't exactly "ripe for the picking"... but he has definitely lost a step. Still, any win over him would be huge for his opponent. Being honest though... I have followed both Vitali and Wlad throughout their entire careers. I have seen every single one of their fights... every single one.... and Vitali has definitely slowed down with his hands, body movement, and reflexes. He's still a machine though. I just always knew that possibly his greatest asset was his GREAT reflexes, and they aren't what they used to be.

 

Well, i agree with Kirk in that it wasn't the same Vitali that was there previously.

Vitali is definitely a bit more lead-footed, and IMO doesn't throw punches with as much conviction as before. Not shocking, he's getting older. But it should be noted.

Against Sanders, Vitali was slamming him with everything in the book, with full power.

 

Since his comeback, Vitali has looked MUCH slower and MUCH more robotic than usual. Man's barely able to move his back and has two bad knees and you say he's not faded? Also, he's had more problems pulling the trigger. Current Vitali would get knocked out within 5 rounds by 2002 Vitali. The fact that he's been able to whoop on some of the division's top contenders while looking like such crap mostly just speaks to how weak the weight class is right now.

 

Eddie Chambers would school Vitali, that **** worked against Gomez, but not Chambers. Remember Vitali couldn't even knock out Chris Byrd, Chambers is similar Byrd but has power. Too bad Chambers is set to fight Wlad next year.

 

That's why I think Chambers would beat Vitali, against Wlad not so because of the stylistic matchup.

 

He has slowed, there is no doubt to this. But, the man is still the top dog as with his brother. I don't see any one giving him much of a problem. As a Haye fan, Haye is still unproven at heavyweight.

 

Hey man, you know I'm a Klitschko fan too but Gomez is a tomato can at best, the guy has done nothing and will never do anything in the division.

Arreola is no better either, he's going to get destroyed. It will be like the Peter or Williams fights, one-sided and brutal for Vitali.

You know the division is in trouble when an overweight Arreola is considered a threat and a legitimate "contender".

 

I am a HUGE fan of Arreola, but he needs to be in top shape. Him being in top shape would be the best thing to ever happen to him. His natural talent is quite obvious, but he needs to come in this fight in the best shape of his life. All that natural talent won't get you anywhere if you wear down late in a fight.
