    - "People were b*tching about the main event… so we switched it. My job is to put on fights people want to see."

    - "Floyd and I are always going back and forth. I’m a boxing fan. Marquez got caught in the crossfire. No disrespect to Marquez, he’s training at my gym right now. But he’s too small. We’re on the same night but we’ll see what happens. I don’t think it’s a good thing. But here we are. DVR the boxing fight."

    - "As much sh*t as I talk about Bob Arum and Don King. I respect them both."

    - "The reality is, no matter what happens on Saturday night. Boxing is in trouble. The UFC continues to grow in this horrible economy. We’re going to kick boxing’s ass. This year we’ve beat boxing and WWE combined."

    - "Movie stars… it’s been happening. I don’t know who’s being approached. The crazy thing about this Rampage thing is he’s giving away a lot of money to do the A-Team. You can’t fix stupid".

He pisses me off every time he claims hes a boxing fan because it's clearly not true. The sole reason he claims it, is so he doesn't come off as absolutely biased when he promotes the UFC over boxing. If he acknowledges boxing is in trouble, why run against it, if you're a fan? If he runs this Saturdays card a week later, he does better business, as does boxing. So why run against it? Hes trying to hurt the sport hes supposedly a fan of...and there's so way he can justify that.

    100%.

Both boxing and MMA should be crossing over as the sport of fighting. Any true fight fan should appreciate the training, skill and hurt of these fighters. It isn't working out that way.

But he's a fan didnt you know? Plus he's a fan of MMA thats why he makes sure UFC events are on the same time as Strikeforce because he loves MMA so much.

So, your argument is that the President of the UFC must prove he truly loves the sport of MMA by allowing direct competition to thrive?

marquez is training at a gym he owns? in vegas I assume?

This whole 'respect' thing is completely misused. I cant talk **** about someone all day and end it with a side comment: 'yeah I respect the guy a lot' without looking like a total moron.

No. I just want you to explain why loving MMA and being President of the UFC is mutually exclusive.

On the other side you have so many boxers and boxing promoters trashing on MMA non-stop... they brought the war on themselves. I hate to see it though, because I love watching both.

To be fair UFC 103 was already scheduled for this weekend. Dana didn't want to change it when Floyd/JMM was announced and that's fair enough.

and newsflash dana, you said in your fake press conference that you didn't know who marquez was, and now you mention him a week later....hmmm.......and sorry dana, mayweather is much more well-known then rich franklin and vitor belfort...
