    Smiths options are

Fight for the European and lose
Fight for the World and lose
    Fight Groves and lose
    Fight DeGale and lose.

DeGale is the easiest of the 4 on paper and he gets paid the most in my opinion.

I don't no how you can accuse me of trolling when you....known as one of the most bias posters posts the most arse kissing post i have seen on here.

If you wanna get Paul Smiths attention, go to boxrec where any post on him is greated with more brown noseing than you can dream off. you will fit right in.

I already post over there rob. I think you will find although I have a heavy swing towards smith, I am fair and respectful. I know what the options are Ron, I don't need an education from you. I think it's because of people like you that smith wanted this fight in the end. He aunt ducking no one. Will smith go in higher if he loses this fight? It's not likely, which is why I am saying he deserves kudos for taking it. He is hanging his hat and career on this fight IMO. You can't knock that, and if you do your name is rob!
As previously stated rob, I believe equal respect should go to degale for taking it, as it's High risk for him too.
    No arse kissing intended

DeGale has faced nobody. Smith sees it as an easy fight and easy pay day. its in his home town.

They both have alot to lose in this fight.

Degale because he will apparently be exposed and seriously dent his career.

Smith because he is fighting a kid with no experience in the pros compared to himsef and could get humiliated.

How anyone can see this as anything but high risk for both is beyond me.

I think that this fight poses more risk to Smith than it does DeGale. If Smith were to lose this fight then any hopes he has of progressing to euro/world level are gone. If DeGale loses then his stock will fall but he will still be in a position to get back on track somewhere down the line.

As for the credibility of opponent... who would people rather see Smith fight? Magee is not going to happen and the world scene is a relatively closed shop at the minute. Which leaves DeGale and Groves in my opinion.

Personally, I would rather have seen Smith take the WBO route. He could get a mandatory shot given that those above him are tied up in the super six. If he gets beat here, that opportunity vanishes. And, as for a payday, a world title fight would bring much more ££ than a fight with DeGale.

I hope Smith does win this fight and get that title shot. If he does, then his selection of opposition has been spot on!
