When victor did the head but....neither larry nor EM commented on it....which is fine. Then when floyd punch vic, EM immediately commented against it; JL immediately defended floyds action but then after hearing everyone else, started downing floyd.... but the killer for me is when LM was interviewing Ortiz, he started helping vic recreate the story and he just let victor get away with that lame explaination of "oh i was pulling back and the next thing you know, his head was there BS. I didnt actually attempt the HB". Then when victor was apologizing about what he did, Larry couldnt contain himself anymore and asked "why are you apologizing?" as if what vic did was all good. This thread isnt for which fighter was right or wrong, im just simply speaking on the commentators
Yeah, I really dislike Floyd, but it's clear that the HBO commentators (I only saw the interviews) were more sympathetic to Ortiz than they should have been. I don't blame Larry that much for being annoyed with Mayweather, though. Because like many of us, he too is sick and tired of Floyd's nonsense that has delayed the fight that we want for so long, and seeing him resort to a sucker-punch knockout over a cherry-picked opponent that belonged nowhere near the same ring as him, kinda' takes the **** when all things are considered. Joke of a fight, with a joke of an ending.
Well if Floyd wants to play the role of epic dickhead and bad boy then he has to accept the fact that most sensible people are going to despise him; that includes the commentators.
yeah i get you because it comes with the territory but im saying floyd is complaining about those points that i made, I'M complaining about them... you know, they dont have to like him and thats cool but i was looking for a little more unbiasedness there. I cant believe that all these commentators and interviewers hear victor saying that floyd came to him instead of him doing the actual headbutting like when holyfield tried to head butt mike after getting bit. They just hear it and accept it.
