When loma comes forward and has the lead there is no one on earth with the foot and mental speed to keep up with loma. Because Loma takes one step forward and the second step is to the side on an angle, no one is fast enough to actually anticipate where he steps and pivot faster than him.

So you have to back him up and have to make him react to what YOU are doing. Nobody can keep up with him if he dictates the pace.
In order to do that you definitely need size, power but also a certain LACK of boxing IQ. Or atleast the ability to " turn your brain off".
You cant even try to keep up with all of his movements, you just gotta bully him and work. Many of Lomas opponents suffer from paralysis by analysis

Kind of like with Ibeabuchi and Byrd. Someone Big, Strong and in shape needs to just bull him to the ropes and keep working

Your right you have to back him up, Salido is the only guy to have done that so far. Once Loma is on the front foot you have your work cut out for you, body shots are gunna be key against him to, you have to drain his energy and only body shots can do that.

Easier said than done though. Lomachenko is great with angles, so chances are you try back him up, and he starts setting traps and shifting at different angles. But, as we have seen before, he is beatable.

    This.

You've got to have the footwork to keep him more or less in front of you and the beard and heart to eat 3 shots for every one that you land. Keep throwing to the body until that goddamn energizer-bunny Lomachenko buzz is gone and it's trench warfare. Even then I doubt it would be easy to win because I have a strong suspicion that Loma is one of those guys that would rather die in the ring than lose.

I don't think it will matter too much either way, Loma can fight on the backfoot almost as well as he does on the offense.

I remember in one of the interviews Mike Tyson was asked how to beat Mayweather. He said something like "Damn, that's very hard to do!". The following question was "What would you do to beat him?". He answered: "I would fight dirty, I would use elbows and stuff like that!".

So, being dirty and physical is obviously one of the ways to beat Loma. Unfortunately (for his future opponents) it would be very hard to do now, because Lomachenko appeals to the referee at the slightest attempt. And he does it quite effectively, by the way. :)

But just to back him up in the corner? Hm, it's very very hard to do, I think. Unless you have landed a lot of body shots before that, maybe.

    Um...
Loma loves to probe with his lead hand, which he effectively uses to control his opponents and get them out of position.
You need to control the distance between you and Loma. Something that Rigo tried but gave up on really fast. Against Rigo, Loma was able to counter Rigos jab and make Rigo hesitant with constant shifts in his guard.
Walking Loma down will accomplish nothing. You would get out punched easily. Everything has to be set up. Its not even about lead leg dominance but more so lead hand dominance. He who controls the space between them, wins the fight.

Thats why the size and workrate is necessary, and a really strong will. You cant engage in trying to analyze or keep up with his movements. Just a big man that keep going forward and keeps throwing punches. Like a Margarito or Paul williams type.

I don't really see anyone being able to outbox Loma 135 and down so you have to outfight him and just maul and bully him. It will take a naturally bigger man and a guy with a I don't give a **** attitude. Salido didn't respect him and played dirty with him it frustrated the hell outta Loma. Loma doesn't like guys like that and has gotten smarter about complaining to the refs which is the smart thing to do. Mikey Garcia has the best chance but even as good as he is he can't box with Loma for very long stretches he's going to have to treat Loma like a small man and bully him and get his respect early from his power if he does that Loma will become weary of his power and it will throw his game off a bit and his workrate will drop off. Also Garcia could possibly get away with being a little dirty because he's a name fighter as well so the ref is more likely to let him get away with more than he will with other fighters.

The skills , speed , length and power of Linares could well give Loma all sorts of problems.

Linares is also one of the best and most underrated body punchers in the game. Since Loma is all mid-range it gives Linares ample opportunity to dig hooks down stairs and if Loma slows down he's out gunned against the superior puncher.

People barely talk about this guy but he's a worse stylistic match-up for Loma than Garcia imo.

His footwork is too good to get backed up continually.

Much like GGG, they are the constant aggressors because of superior footwork and intelligence.

Nice idea, but seemingly impossible to pull off.

The one flaw I see with Loma is the moment he gets hit with a low blow he looks over at the ref, he literally stops concentrating on fighting. It’s commendable that he doesn’t wanna fight dirty but some fights may require you too.
