I guess that'll serve Toney a lesson for trying to intentionally headbutt Peter, right?

No, actually it was Vitali's choice to use his 'emeritus' mandatory status. All Peter did was to negotiate a good deal instead of giving up the title and fight for less money.

I don't like the guy, but I respect every single boxer especially the ones who are the underdog. Wish him a good luck for his comeback fight after Saturday! :happy

I don't like Peter, he's got the intellect of a 4 year old and he fights dirty as hell. He systematically rabbit punches and gets away with it - he did it against Wlad, both times against Toney and also against Maskaev. His showing against McCline was more than lackluster, and so was his effort against the shot Maskaev - he rocked him with a series of illegal rabbit punches and that led to the stoppage. He clearly lost to Toney in their first fight. I strongly doubt that Peter would be where he is now if he hadn't got that gift decision. The only credit I give Peter for is giving Wlad a tough fight and beating Toney in the rematch, that's it.

Who else is there in the division?, I'm surprised by the people that criticise heavyweight's resumes. You guys make it sound like Mike Tyson, Muhammad Ali and Sonny Liston are out there and everyone is ducking them. Please mention the guys he's supposed to fight then.

The only 3 rounds Peter won in the fight were the rounds he had a knockdown. It was an easy fight to score. I would say Wlad won convincingly. Plus, 1 of the knockdowns no punch was even landed.

Great answer. While I find Peter quite entertaining, his God mumbling is f*cking annoying.

That tells you alot when Wlad would rather go down than take the punch. Wlad went down because of his nerves and he is scared of getting chin checked again.

He got up and won the fight though. Just like Peter did against McCline.

I agree, but I am just touching on how Wlad fought. Peter really did not land anything hard, Wlad just went down because of the pressure and the fear of getting hit. Peter on the other had was hit and pushed on the first KD, but was caught square on the other two. The fact that he took those shots, got up and won makes his getting knocked down 3 times more impressive than Wlads win after getting up 3 times.

I think if Wlad got caught flush 3 times from Peter, like he did against Sanders, Wlad would have been KO'd.

He's fought 1 of the best fighters out there and is about to fight another one. He has not FOUGHT the best fighters out there. Maskaev was by far one of the weakest champions we have ever had.

    BULL****. :nono
Peter had no choice in fighting Vitali. It was set up by the WBC. If Vitali wasnt forced on Sam, no way Sam would have picked him to fight.

Peter NEVER called Vitali out of retirement to fight :-( :-( :-(

So, if Peter's resume is a joke and if Vitali's resume is a joke, will the ref be a clown this week end?

We'll know a little more about the two guys pretty soon.

If that were the case, I think everyone would rather have Peter unify than take on a Vitali coming off of a 4 year layoff. :-((
