So, what do you think, Greg? Of the three types of defensive fighters, which impresses you most, and which do you think you can learn most from?

    Well they all impress me.

I think to watch a guy using his head movement is very impressive to watch so thats probably the answer.

In terms of learning the most you learn abit from all of them, i think i learn more from guys who use head moveemnt as thats how i defend as well. But saying that i watch all types of defence and try to learn something.

    very diplomatic answer there

I'm a little numb on Novocaine and it may have gone to my brain a little, in a bit of a cloud, I am, and trying to remember the clip you showed me. Again, it is a bit vague, but seems to me you moved your feet pretty well. What about the idea that a fighter with great footwork can use that to his advantage, offensively?

ill answer this in afew mins away to see my gran whos just popped in for a few minutes

yeh i have pretty good footwork. you can use footwork to your advantage in terms of making an opponent miss by moving and setting up new angles to start an attack. Preferably doing both in the same movement. Pep was the master at this.

Myself, I love a fighter that's all over the ring. You can control the fight that way. Somebody once said that there's never a totally equal situation at any particular time, and this is especially obvious in a ring; one guy is in control at any given time. I love the way Walcott walked away from his guys luring them to follow, and when they did he stopped came back in with a big shot. I think that combining great foot movement with effective offense gives you the best of both worlds; in fact one compliments the other. Using the MOMENTUM of your going into him and his coming into you ups your power. Read this Impact!

I do use the whole ring i like to controll the fight with it. Also good movement tires your opponent out as missing is hell of a tiring nd if your walking forward throwing a shot and being hit with a combo in return without landing your own punch its disheartening

"Disheartening", and what's that you hear as the goal of all fighters? To take an opponent's soul, heart, his hope; for them to begin to accept losing as an option.

thts what all fighters want to happen.

as Pea said boxing has the same objective but so many different methods

youcan dishearten your opponent by making them miss, keeping coming, hitting them with bombs etc....

As many methods as there are fighters. In all walks of life it's the guys who know themselves best, their attributes and weaknesses, enhancing one and minimizing the other that are outstanding in their field. Maybe the best thing, the vital thing for any young fighter is to "find themselves". But from your thorough study of the game, I'd guess you already know that. :good

    well they support it.

Before i boxed i was a fat laze around waste of space and my Dad wanted me to do a sport. I started watching boxing and then decided i wanted to try it out so i did and i loved it and so my Dad loved it. So hes supported me taking me to training 30 miles away and taking me to fights.

My Mum thinks its great i have something i enjoy thats dosent involve nothing too bad - just fighting. She does think its a waste of time that i spend so much time boxing, wathcing boxing etc.... But shes not too fussed about me boxing, shes glad i enjoy it but she wishes i dont but is happy for me. However shes banned from wathcing me fight as she goes crazy shouting stuff. She once told me to just hit my opponenent.

im pretty lucky with them really.

Smart dad! What your mom said was funny, "Just hit him." I understand. Compared to a lot of things a kid could be doing boxing's pretty harmless stuff, she's right. I can't picture you fat though.

yeh my Dad actually likes boxing now. sits down watches fights with me we watched Chacon vs Boza Edwards the other day and he likes Ray Leonard.

yeh my Mum just dosent understand the finer points of boxing. She once did say she always wanted her or my dad at a fight incase something happened but hwen i explained theres my trainer and everything and im a good boxer she calmed down abit.

boxings harmless compared to what i coulda been doing. My old mates i was with are ina nd out of jail being taken home by the police most nights just wastes of spaces.

me being fat was a long time ago i was about 5ft tall and the ame weight i am now. my mates always joke around calling me a fatty cause i still love me food
