You could say Margarito cheated in the cotto fight but..

IF he did cheat in the Cotto fight, then we don't know who would've won if the gloves were legal.

There's too many factors to come into play.

Just attributing it to Margarito's chin/Cotto's stamina is too simplistic.

Obviously, you can't say either guy definitely would've won.

 

cotto was outboxing the **** out of margarito early into the fight, the first 6 rounds. Had margo not cheat he would have continued to outbox margo to a UD and the effect of those punches had margo not cheat wouldn't take an effect on cotto

 

When your taking blows to the face and stomach and bleeding perfusely from shots that were devastating...

IF he did cheat...yea...I seriously doubt Cotto would've taken a knee...I mean he lasted to round 11...ROUND ****IN' 11...there's 12 rounds not 15...he could've held out for just one more round.

IF it was illegal and caught beforehand...obviously he would've been able to make it into the 12th and won a decision.

 

I for one was a Margacheato fan until this. I felt he brought alot to the table but now its all down the drain. I think the question here is how long has he been fighting like that ! Look, i think its pretty obivious that its a done deal for him now. He got caught cheating and than got knocked out !!! And reminder here (Shane) isn't a knock out artist at all. The sad part as well is from the 2nd round with a broken nose....until the 11th round before Cotto took the knee. It just wasn't worth it.

bottom line is once team margarito was caught it throws doubt on everything that before it - but - like mosley and jones, most of that can be washed away and it will be forgotten largely if margarito can come back and be a wrecking ball again without it.

 

He didn't cheat on his fight with Cotto there is no proof of that:deal

I don't even know what he tried to put in his gloves for the Mosley fight. Apparently the only people that do are Margarito, Capetillo and the cashier at Home Depot who rang up the plaster (just kidding). If all it turns out to be is a soft knuckle pad then it wouldn't have made much difference at all.
