Manny was at 148lbs for fight 3 if my memory serves me correct.

 

If the weight was a factor, it might have helped Pacquiao absorb the first knockdown shot.

As far as punching power and Marquez' knockout of Pacquiao? From the very first rounds you could see Marquez was sitting more on his shots.
You guys must have noticed Marquez right hands to Pacquiao's gut were vicious. It was a sequence of two or three brutal body shots by Marquez that set up his overhand right that dropped Pacquiao hard in the third.
Pacquiao was looking for another Marquez right to the body when that overhand got him by suprise.

No doubt Marquez mind was more focused putting more mustard on his shots and hurting Pacquiao than focusing just on outboxing Pacquiao.

It ****ing makes me angry that it came down to that. Marquez gameplan for this fight gives Pacquiao more scoring opportunities. Had he strictly moved to the left and created openings to just land clean and hard but not so much with vicious intent, the fight would have gone to the cards again and an arm punching and lunging Pacquiao would have been awarded another gift.

When Marquez was dropped in the 5th and came out in the 6th more flat footed and willing to trade with Pacquiao, midway through that round my brother say's, Marquez is'nt moving to the laterals, he's right in front of Pacquiao getting hit with the left.
I said right back to my brother, "the hell with the laterals, Marquez is'nt going to get a decision no matter what he does, that bafoon Harold Lederman allready has him down 5-1 and Marquez is giving as good as he's getting trading with Pacquiao. **** boxing lets ****ing go to WAR MARQUEZ........
.......less than a minute later, BOOM!

That was just beautiful toward end of the round Pacuiao landed a good shot on Marquez. As Marquez slightly lost his balance, he proceeds aggressively to chase Pacquiao toward the ropes, where from there, Marquez backs away a couple of steps and walks Pacquiao into that peach of a shot heard round the world!
Marquez in beast mode still managing to insert the wrinkes of boxing and bait Pacquiao into running into that shot. :yep

 

Had jack all to do with weight.
