Mate what a night. Im lost for words you know when you watch something that you are not sure if its real. Well its ****ing brilliant what my eyes witnessed the last 3 days of the Tour.
Yeah, what an achievement. Cannot be understated what it means to Aussie sport. What a champ and what a ride!
Absolutely amazing effort, Cadel. It might take a while for Australians to fully appreciate what he's just achieved. The man is phenomenal.
Yeah well done but stuff this gentlemans agreement every year not to attack on the last ride in paris , the shlecks should say **** that and go for it , ya never know if ya dont have a dip.
Yeah never really understood that bit as well. Well done Cadel I was a knocker in the past and thought you blew ur chance when 2nd a few years ago ..... enjoy :good
Evans rode like a machine for the duration, and fought back from the only set-back he had, the previous day, with amazing courage. 108 years it's taken us to win this race. But with our small population we probably had no right to expect to ever win it! Hope Cadel gets the promotional opportunities that should go hand-in-hand with a win of this magnetude.
You win Le Tour, you're a God for life in Europe. Here, he'll get to go on the footy showatsch But he seems to be a bloke with an appetite for winning. I reckon he'll put himself through the tour hell for the next four years. Stubborn champion he is.
I reckon there'll be a flood of Cadel Evans endorsed gear being made as we speak though HookMeister. But you are right, at least until now, he could have walked down any Australian street and not get a single second glance.
Plenty of coverage. SBS has been doing their usual classy 3 hours per night coverage live. I'm suffering from sleep deprivation but have enjoyed every minute of it.. Well done Cadel Evans. A truely gutsy champion.
the ride to the finish in paris is dangerous enough without it being a race for the yellow jersey too. There is no way any threat would get away from the yellow jersey anyway as his team would ride at the front and hold the road.
