    Mijares would beat Donaire...

He's the better fighter in all aspects besides power

Mijares isnt even the fastest guy in his division that honor goes to Z Gorres.

Dont confuse balance with speed because thats all you're doing here, Mijares is just a technical boxer with alot of power and thats it.

He isn't a big puncher. I'd venture to say Donaire hits harder as evident by his KO of Vic Darchinyan. But Mijares's workrate is significantly higher, he has a better jab, he fights better off of the backfoot, and he can fight in close quarters too while still being able to evade punches and counter with shots of his own. And he wont just counter with one or two shots, he'll counter with 3 or 4. Mijares is a very complete fighter...

    Mijares UD (117-111)

Nonito Dnaire is a solid fighter, with great understanding of distance,he has shown great footwork against southpaws and the importance of winning the inside toe battle to gain leverage over your southpaw opponents, he also is a skilfull boxer with understanding of the use of the jab, hooks and plain and simple counterpunching...

I can't see anyone at that weight giving him problems, he is not a natural big guy and going up in weight to 115 or even 118 these might proof to big for him...as long as he stay in the pocket he has a good chance in beating alot of people including Mijares , a southpaw he will be able to handle with ease in my opinion....

He does have pop, his jab will keep anyone honest with him 118 and below. He finds and makes holes which is his best offensive asset other than his jab. And yeah he has great footwork which makes him a very balanced fighter, speed is good but saying its in a state above Donaire's is clearly delusional :-(

Don't get me wrong, Donaire is a damn good fighter. A real talent, but I think of him as a notch below Mijares.

I think he can go all the way and become undisputed at 115.

Ask Amsterdam about him too - he knows miles more than me about Mijares.

Yeah but Frazier beat Ali only once and Ali didnt dominate George. Donaire dismantled Maldonado.. Boxing math works!

    Mijares faster than Donaire?? lol

I am tire of this bull****, peopel putting down Donaire....guys this guy knows what he is doing, one of the bet thing to dictate a boxer that underdstood the sweet scinece is how they fared against southpaws...Donaire has everything you need to defeat a southpaw, he has done it and will do it agains and when Maldonado turn southpaw when fighting Donaire he realized that Donarie new what he was doing...all I look at when southpaw figght an orthidox fighter is the front...this is the key...even more important than moving away from the left hand, which Donaire also did...the battle of leverage....that's what will always will dictate the battle of southpaw fight..and Donaire has as much leverega and understanding of the front toe position that any other boxer recently fighting souhtpaws....Mijares will be meat for Donaire....his stand is to wide and will become square of for Donaire as he move around the Mijares....

Amsterdam again making outlandish claims about a boxer who is just merely good, not great (like the guy in his avatar).

I'd lean towards Donaire because he is quicker and has more pop, and I don't think Mijares is leagues above Donaire in terms of boxing ability. It'd be a good fight and I'd love to see it.

Alot of this debate seems to be predicated on sensitive Donaire fans thinking that those of us picking Mijares don't like Nonito or are writing him off as fluff or something. Clearly he possesses a well-rounded skillset, is above-average in just about every area and has world class potential. The fact that he is not now, and likely never to be, the pure boxing specimen that is Cristian Mijares - is NOT an insult. Donaire right now beats many at fly/superfly - maybe most. But certainly not Mijares. It's totally cool to love the obviously talented Donaire's exciting style. It'd be a lot cooler if many of you could graciously accept that as good as he is, the sky is not the limit - Mijares is. Take three chill pills and call me in the morning. :thumbsup

Amstrerdam have brainwashed alot of people here..Hes got alot of followers

Hed like you to believe that there is this great skills gap when there is none.
As a respected analyst Bernstein pointed out Nonito is very skillful... to be more skillful than Nonito basically you have to be Floyd

Hed like you to believe that Maldonado is a shot fighter when Maldonado only lost to Vic and has been mwing down opposition. You saw the fight. Maldonando is anot a bum

Third hed like you to believe that he got hit often in last sats fight..NO HE DIDNT..maybe he was watching a replay of Maldonado/Mijares

People will see this fight and will come to a conclusion that "Dude that Nonito kid is elusive" But according to Amsterdam, hes easy to hit...

Now I see som ethreads that Arce will kill Donaire. Lets be Honest before Nonito dismantled Vic. Vic was a monster in these same forums ..Arce is scared of him blah blah blah..Now Arce is a bigger win than Vic..Please lol

    Thats my analysis and folks...

    dont believe the hype.
