Your analysis is spot on and I could not have said it better myself.

Froch won the fight. It takes lots of guts to tell Dirrell fans that falling down on canvas, running, holding and complaing does not win fights.

You do win the title by clean effective boxing: Dirrell won. IMO

My thoughts exactly. Going by this criteria, I don't see how you can give Froch more than four rounds. People say Dirrell ran, at least he landed shots and even hurt Froch. Froch didn't land **** all fight.

He landed some killer rabbit punches, and I think he only got warned once or twice.

And that is what I gave Froch four rounds.

You forgot about his deliberate punches on the break and the elbows he threw.

Those are worth consideration too :yep

I have heard of fighting off the ropes, but fighting off the canvas?

its an awful fight to score you can basically give the 1st 4 rounds to either fighter. the 11 and 12th to Froch. I think Froch gets a few more of the middle rounds but its really tuff to be certain. it could have gone 2 round win for either fighter.
If Dirrell had a bigger punch out put in the fight he won easily but at times he didnt let his hands go. Its like hopkins and calzaghe hops/dirrell would land one good shot to JC/Froch's less clean 4 or 5 shots: what do u prefer? clean punching or aggression most judges favour the guy moving forward. Dirrell could certainly have won on the back foot but he left too narrow a margin
