I think Cotto and Margarito have teh best records at WW. They have faced nearly everyone that has had mattered.

Anyone that values ABC linearity over quality of resume doesn't deserve to be listened to. Cotto's WW resume is solid.

You'd rather him fight Hlatshwayo than Clottey after Clottey was stripped for agreeing to fight Cotto?

Exactly. Good catch, but really means nothing when you look at his resume. Best active welter resume belongs to Cotto.

Also I think Quintana was a titlist when Cotto got to him.

No he wasn't. He won his first world title after the Cotto fight by beating yup out of shape mohawk Williams. :bart

No, but he won a title afterwards when he beat Williams. Malignaggi, Torres and Quintana were nobodies when they fought Cotto, and all of them went on to win belts. Just goes to prove that not only isn't he ducking guys, but that the up and coming fighters he's faced are actual dangerous fighters, not just tomato cans with shiny records.

In the immortal words of the great Easton Assassin: "So ****ing What!!"

Cotto proved his mettle over and over.

Exactly. I've grown tired of these stupid threads bashing Cotto. Yea Cotto never beat a title holder but so damn what? Look at the fighters he fought. I mean damn how can anybody complain of the fighters he faced? Torres, Paulie, Corley, Muassa, Judah, Quintana, Mosley, Margarito, Clottey. <<<<That might be the best resume in the 2000's
