You ever notice Miguel Cotto has never beaten a reigning champion?

He was clearly out of shape. Alot of people praise a fighter in training but when fight night comes, look at the body it's way different. Oscar said he was training very hard for the Sturm fight but on fight night Oscar look out of shape.

He wasn't out of shape, I saw both fights. And about the Pintor comment on Williams training, Pintor was seeing Williams every day cause Calderon was also training in the same gym. Is not the same comparison as to Oscar vs Sturm, BTW that fight was awful and Oscar looked like a lazy married drunken man.

I agree Cotto is for real which Pacman and others will find out next month. I love Cotto's attitude prepared to fight anyone the company Top Rank put before him.

Ahem....Does Williams ring a bell? Not saying he ducked him, but don't tell me he couldn't have fought him if he really wanted to. But then again, it doesn't help that Arum has vowed to never work with Williams again.

I've never liked the I'll fight anyone my promoters tell me to thing. The fans pay you and the fans should get to call the shots on who you fight.

I'll fight whoever my promoter tells me to seems like a lame ass way of not calling out the real names

cotto is the peoples champ and he knows what a true test is, and he always takes them.....1 reason why cotto is my #1 fighter right now, the man is the true definition of a warrior

Cotto has a similar attitude to thegreat Tommy Hearns. He never questions who he is asked to fight just make the price right and he gets in there. Very refreshing attitude.

i also noticed that cotto seems to fight the top guys whether they are champions or not.
why would arum let him fight such tough fights when he can cherry pick and protect his record. makes you wonder about arums business savy.

Cotto, by quite a distance, has the best active WW resume, whilst people can say pulie, torres and quintana werent world class boxers, all have gone on to win belts against tough opposition, torrs ko'd holt, quintana OUTBOXED williams, pulie has been a top LW for the last couple of years. Cotto does fight the best opposition out there. This makes him a great warrior. He is not a great fighter. His only victory against a prime opponent is Clottey, and we can argue all day about who won, but Cotto did not look a world beater in that fight.

Has he fought everyone? yes he has.

But is he as good as pbf? no he is not.

I prefer the looking for the best fights attitude. I can't help but think that if Cotto had tried harder to make the fights we could have seen him fight Hatton when they were both undefeated or seen him fight Floyd by now but after every intreview when asked who he wants to fight he just says that he lets his promoter pick his opponents. Sometimes the fighter has to get on the promoters case and force the issue kind of like Hatton did with Warren.

If Warren had his way Hatton would still be fighting tomato cans in manchester with an undefeated record.

Cotto's attitude can be great if the promoter is making the right fights like the margarito fight for example but it can suck if there are better fights out there that we want to see.

Yea it is like the same comparision cause Oscar said before the Sturm fight that he train great and he's in the best shape of his life. Floyd Sr even said Oscar look in great shape prior to the Sturm fight. But look on fight night, Oscar look way out of shape. Williams look out of shape and his body was too dry. In the rematch Williams body look much better.
