Everytime a boxer loses, after the fight during the interview after the words "No excuses", comes a litany of ****ing excuses!!! No other athlete has as hard a time with a loss as a ****in insecure boxer. Think about it guys: When a tennis player loses a Wimbledon final match, does he start spewing out excuses as to why he lost? I'm so sick and tired of boxers justifying every loss with a goddamn excuse. Be a man and give the other dude credit and move on. These fighters are so insecure they can't deal with a loss. Go see Anthony Robbins if you need help, just stop with the excuses!! Your thoughts?
Yeah, but I'm sick of this ****. I know the game is mental, but Jeeeeesus. Don't they know that fans don't dig this crap? How refreshing is it when a fighter loses and just says "he was the better man"? However, it seems like even when they do that, days after the fight and even sometimes during the post fight press conference, the excuses start coming.
Whats more saddening is fighters that make excuses for a shitty win...Alan Greens post fight interview made me drop alot of hope I had for him..Malignoggi blaming his **** poor performance on inactivity:-( It comes down to their inability to train or be trained properly....I think it also in some cases has to do with a guilty concience because the fighter knows he got owned and was given a gift
sugar shane mosley was really good about his loss to cotto. i think less boxers actually ***** about losing than you would think, you just remember the ones that do because of how annoying it is.
Mosley wasn't too gracious in some of his other losses. It's understandable that guys would make excuses and still think they're the best. But it often makes for some good comedy. "I came down too quick from my caffeine high"- Vinny Paz This content is protected
yeah, i'm not trying to give an example of a career full of classy losses, i'm just trying to give a recent example of a boxer not giving excuses.
Sometimes , you just have to give a guy a break. Probably, when these guys are interviewed right after a fight their adreniline is still flowing. They're embarresed because they lost in front of millons of people with nothing but their undershorts on. They train , and belive they are going to win, and when they lose, or win a close one , they just can't believe what happened. Then some douche bag like Max Kellerman sticks a mike in their face and asks stupid questions. Winning in boxing is exhilerating, losing is painful and humiliating. Who knows what any of us civilians would say under similar stressful circumstances?
I personally like how the way the promotion of the fight is set up, the boxer has to say how great training went and that he is the best shape of his life in order to sell the fight. Then afterwards he has to make excuses for losing.
One guy I was really impressed with after losing was Riddick Bowe in the Evander Holyfield rematch. He lost his title via a razor thin decision, in which an idiot came flying down when Bowe was having an excellent round (after getting whupped by Holyfield in the previous 2 rounds). Bowe's pregnant wife had to leave the arena on a stretcher. After the fight, Bowe just congratulated Holyfield and whine about anything.
I think boxers have bigger egos than other sporstmen, we have to agree that everyone around here would prefer to be beaten in tennis match than in a fight, thats why its so hard to admit that he lost.
Yep the usual song and dance after they loose... " I tip my hat off to him ya know.. he came out and did what had to do, i aint got no excuses ya know...*cough* although i wasn't at my best AND I did suffer a herniated disc and acute bronchitis and aids and diarrhea oh yeah and cancer..in addition to two broken hands during the fight "
