the fact is that usually its the interviewer who asks a question like "What do you think went wrong?" and so the fighters are just being honest.
So true. I would't be so sure about that. I think we could end up with a lot of alias posters after this fight. I think that is quite a profound statement that I totally agree with. I think we sometimes lose sight of the fact that these people are just ordinary men while we sit at out our keyboards. Don't get me wrong, sometimes boxers whine too much but I think we must accept boxing is a unique sport that will garner unique reactions.
Some of us have fought before (like me), and I lost three amateur fights in a row. I had no excuse for my losses other than that I was outclassed. It was amazing how many people tried to make excuses for me, and I wouldn't let them.
Well thats good but we all react differently to things so those who do make excuses should not necessarily be subjected to derision. Plus, with all due respect, I don't expect your fights were in front of millions of people worldwide after which you had Larry Merchant shoving a mic in your face asking you stupid questions.
Yeah, I'm waiting for a fighter after being KTFO to say something like this in the post fight interview: "Man, I used to work at Burger King and I got 2 15 minute breaks. I take one 10 second break and they wanna call it a ****ing loss. I coulda continued man!!"
I see your point, but I guess they should be used to seeing him ask stupid questions if they've watched fights on HBO
