You gave Maidana the win over Floyd, but had Brook over Porter? Explain!

    Something isn't adding up here.

50% of forum had Maidana winning, with the other half having Floyd. Now 90% of the forum has Brook winning with a small 10% having Porter winning.

Here's a few things I have to ask

Are you saying Brook landed more accurate punches on Brook than Floyd did on Maidana?

Are you saying if Floyd held a lot more in the first half of the fight you would scored the fight for him convincingly?

Or is it you score rabbit punches, and low blows?

I would like to know when you guys score for aggression, and when you don't I'm confused. Because when Alexander was holding Maidana after every exchange you guys gave him a hard time.

I have no problem how people score fights as long as they're consistent!

Everyone who knows how to score a fight knows that Mayweather AND Brook won their respective fights

The ones saying Brook won and Mayweather lost are either 1. *******s or 2. Brittards who dislike Mayweather

    That's it.

I started my own thread on this. I think Floyd just has so many haters that losing 3-4 rounds is enough for people to cry robbery.

No. 85% of forum scored for Mayweather. It's the vocal minority that makes it seem like there actually was some small crowd that scored it against him.

If you thought that Mayweather/Maidana or Brook/Porter should have been a draw or had the losing fighter the winner, then you are simply clueless and invent your own scoring criteria and then choose when to follow that criteria. There are no arguments for the contrary.

50% of the people need to go back to boxing school. Mayweather clearly won over maidana and im a floyd hater. It wasnt even close.

And brook clearly won over porter, again wasnt even close.

Maidana landed clean far more than Porter, at least allowing some debate.
Porter won the fight walking away if punches to the back count, but they don't.

I agree punches to the back don't count, but Maidana' punches were hitting hips, and elbow. He had a round where he score very effectively thought, but that's about it. You can't choose to score rabbit punches for one, but not the other

I had Floyd beating Maidana 116-112 and using the same scoring criteria had Brook winning 118-110

To the untrained eye Maidana was very successful, I go back and forth 6-6 draw or 7-5 Floyd, Maidana landed a higher number of punches than people give him credit for.Floyd wasn't incredibly active for the first half of the fight, based on activity alone Maidana outperformed him early. Porter was lost, looked like a little child beating up his older brother.

Well, based on activity alone, Paul Williams outperformed Lara from start to finish. Alexander outperformed Kotelnik start to finish based on activity alone...

Now do you realize why activity alone means close to nothing?

Activity combined with Maidana landing 221 punches to Mayweather's 230. Means its closer than you want to admit. I think Mayweather eked out a close win barely, but it was far from a dominant performance.

You can't compare 2 fights... involving 4 different fighters.

Brook and Mayweather both won comfortably anyway.

I haven't heard anyone claim it was dominant.

Just a solid, good win in a good fight that was much closer than your average viewer thought it would be going in (as most predicted Maidana couldn't possibly win more than one single round).
