He usually does when he gets to interview a black fighter after a match, ****, he has to hold back wood everytime Mayweather comes up in a conversation.
He barks like Juan Diaz. I do not like it. He is, however, throwing everything in the book at Corley, with textbook finesse (and mustard)...1-2s, short uppercuts inside, hooks to the temple, a few body shots - landing a little of everything. This might not go long.
Corley getting mauled even worse in round 4 than the 3rd. More than half of Alexander's power shots in last minute and half landing in my estimation.
I hate that ***, I almost canceled my HBO subscription after I heard he was replacing Merchant. I wish there was a fast forward button on my TV were I could push it everytime he talks.:yep
Man, as I'm watching this, I'm thinking that Alexander-Cherry would be a very entertaining 12 round bloodbath (in that both guys are nonstop forward pressure fighters, with just enough power and accuracy to break skin if not necessarily score brutal knockouts - and while Alexander's is still unknown, he looks tough, and Cherry has a proven chin). I know alot of people think Edner is boring or not tv-friendly, but I think it has a lot to do with who his opponent is. This would be great fun.
So you saying that he is nothing like Spinks, he has his own agressive style, albeit slick? You would think being trained by the same guy, you might see some similarities
Funny you say that, the commentators were just talking about how very different he is from Spinks. :yep He's a plod-ahead-with-elbows-tucked-and-wing-power-shots kind of fighter. Would appear crude if the punching weren't so disciplined. Has a weird habit of shifting his weight between his toes as he's throwing, as though he can't decide which foot to plant, probably just a nerves thing that will (hopefully) fade with experience.
You'd think that HBO could've found someone qualified - instead they hired this punk. atsch Kellerman is - hands down - the WORST boxing commentator I have heard in my 30 years of following boxing. If there is any justice, he will be gone quickly from HBO. He RUINS their telecasts.
