He is one of the most talented/most exciting guys in Boxing today. Now got KTFO twice in a row, do u think he can/will come back? He has a weak chin but i think if he finds a trainer who can teach him some D and build some confidence, he can become a world champion again. He has to get rid of Roach, he was whooping DeMarco until he got caught with some crazy ****.
**** that glass jaw puta. he tried to clown my boy Demarco in the ring while getting his pito sucked by Steward. then look what happen. Mexicano's stay knocking that maricon out :deal
First of all, Not really, on either count. He's fairly talented, and moderately exciting at times. Not among the most in the sport in either category. Thrice overall, in the last few years. To contend? Sure, he has that much talent. To become the dominant elite he was promised to be? No, that's never happening. Nothing to do with coaching. So easy to blame the corner when you have someone who mentally breaks down in tough times. That's a character flaw.
Mentally breaks down? What are you talking about? When did he quit in the De Marco fight? His face was ripped open, blood pouring down and he kept going until the stoppage. I don't see any point in that fight where he stopped fighting. He did NOT mentally break down
That Demarco fight pissed me off so bad. Props to DeMarco for pulling it out but Linares looked great until he got lazy and wouldn't keep his hands up on the inside :-( Paper skin and a weak chin is not a good combination.
How about, when you have won 8 of the first 9 rounds and you know you have massive facial cuts and are NOT capable of stopping your opponent, you get on your bicycle, reduce punch output to focus on defensive placement/energy, and stay out of exchanges? Nope. He stayed with his same tactics from the start, and DeMarco did not.
Trying avoiding punches when looking through a mask of blood. I haven't done it, but i doubt it's easy. Credit Linares for how he kept fighting against De Marco. He was still landing good shots but couldn't keep it all together. That doesn't make him mentally weak.. maybe he just doesn't have the skill to survive such a situation.
The problem with Linares in the DeMarco fight was not chin but movment. He kept moving out in one direction after throwing a flurry and DeMarco was able snap his face everytime. He did this for all 10 rounds , just circling in one direction. Terrible movment.
