At the end of the day, most people hate on a boxer for either their fans, their management or their personality. Both Calzaghe and Kessler to me are really entertaining boxers and likeable guys outside the ring. People who lay **** on Calzaghe for having a crap record should shut it because facing Kessler makes his record gold. Kessler is the biggest threat to Calzaghes reign, and JC has proved once again he has a pair for taking this fight. Win/lose/draw he deserves respect. Kessler on the other hand hasnt done much wrong in his career and is taking on the long standing division champ, in a fight I think he can and will win. Forget what has happened in both guys careers and all the **** that has happened in the past, this is the best and most important fight in a long time and lets hope its one for the ages. PS. For all those people who think this is an untested eurobum fight, do me a favour........get ****ed. Nationality shouldnt play a role when watching a fight, performances are where it is at and if ou cant see the skills these guys posses, your either blind or a hater! :bbb
Good post man. Calzaghe proved he had a pair to me when he fought Lacy. Yea, Lacy is the bum here now on ESB, but lets remember who made him the bum.
Well done ClearlyCool, great post. It's refreshing to hear such unbiased opinion about a boxer's character. They are both clearly damn fine boxers who both have talent and class in equal measure. Boxing and it's followers are the winners here.
This is the best fight that SMW can offer - and it is happening! Other divisions could learn from this........
Other fighters could learn from the respect these fighters are showing one another. Similar to Cotto/Mosley.
No doubt. Only a couple weeks now until we have a undeniable king pin SMW. Honestly I am still undecided, a couple weeks ago I was leaning towards Joe and now I'm back to undecided. This should be a great fight.
This is kind of a double edge sword don't ya think? One of the major complaints by their fans is wanting more US recognition. Also what will they be fighting at 1:00 am local time for them? US fighters fighting on the east coast such as AC or MSG usually don't enter the ring until after mid-night locally as well to accomodate west coast viewers, so it's only 1 hour difference in what goes on any ways. Pavlik and Taylor didn't enter the ring until a little after midnight a couple weeks ago. I could see your point if they had to wait to fight until 3-4 am.
