Last time I looked Taylor was a middleweight and Calzaghe a SuperMiddle(who walks round at almost 200lbs)

He is probably more athletic but that's pretty irrelevant. He MAY hit harder, but is leagues behind in terms of skills

Why do you guys always have to take it one step too far and kill all of your credibility? :patsch Lets put it this way, Joe has stayed at his weight and dominated less than stellar opposition, finally stepping up and winning a UD against a live fighter. Winky was at HIS WEIGHT and beating, and dominating good competition, and twice a great fighter in Shane :deal He then stepped up and shut out another GREAT fighter in Tito, beat two solid opponents and then BEAT the Champ. What Winky did at 154 and 160 and more importantly, how he did it, far exceeds anything JOe has done :deal

The way I see it, in the past few years there have been 5 dominant fighters in the sport; Pac, Floyd, Winky, HOpkins and Calzaghe. They are all great fighters. Floyd, Winky and Hopkins have taken those "dare to be great" chances though. Pac and Joe haven't.

History at a lower weight divisionis irrelevent. Calzaghe isn't a 154 fighter. These are facts. So let's base our assumptions on recent performances at the proposed weight they'd be fighting at: at least 168.

spot on, winky is a good fighter with great defense, but calzaghe throwing 100 punches a round would simply outwork him. and winky's pawing jab would do nothing for him in that fight

calzaghe will wipe the floor with hopkins is simply a ridiculous statement and shows a lot of you eruos are in love with the homeboy and are way underestimating hops based upon his age and by some notion that ww and tarver are somehow bums. calzaghe's the best super mw and has fast hands but he ain't all that -- hopkins has still got tons of tenacity, fast hands of his own, and more power than calzaghe. this ain't peter manfredo.

Ok time to set things straight. No Way does winky ever beat Calzaghe.
    Here's why:
Wright vs. Soliman is a good fight to go by, Soliman is a high volume, low power, unorthodox boxer. Winky beat him, but struggled to work him out and never established control. Even if he had the flu, he did not look good in there and was hit a lot. This was a middleweight fight (I think) so he was younger and closer to his prime weight.

Now no disrespect to Soliman (guys a legend), but Calzaghe is superior in nearly every aspect of his game. He is more accurate, more powerful, has a great chin, has a high volume of punches and proven stamina, on top of that he has a great boxing brain and adaptability. Calzaghe has a HUGE stylistic advantage and I think he would dominate.

I believe this fight is the WORST possible opponent for winky and I cant see him winning.

As someone else said, Winky will have more success against predictable or othodox boxers.
