My warped logic?

If Floyd payed for the IBF santioning fee, he still have the IBF belt. The WBA stripped Judah of the super champ status when he lost to Baldomir.

Floyd beat both Judah and Baldomir. But since WBA has a regular champion (Collazo), Hatton beat Collazo but vacated the title, Floyd beat Hatton. Another accomplishment of proving who the champion is.


Cotto won a vacated title. Nothing special.

 

Cotto better be careful with mayorga, if he fights at 147 all it takes is one punch to railroad his career.

 

I don't think there's a more overrated WW than Kermit Cintron. Other than KO power he's got very little that makes him a stand out fighter. He's one dimensional..but his one dimension is very very dangerous, I'll give em that.

If he beats Margo of course I'll eat my words.

 

Sorry but it is warped to the limit boundaries of sanity. Floyd won the IBF title against Judah and just because he opted out of that Championship in search of another ( the WBC title to become a 4 division WBC title holder and beat the man who beat Judah), it means that the IBF has no life beyond Mayweather and Judah? That's a whole lotta bull and that goes for the WBA Championship distorted logic too... Mayweather never won it and it's equally as valuable as the WBC title. Actually Cotto's opposition at 147 has been better than Mayweather's - Quintana ( the WBO Champ), Urkal, Judah and Mosley ( once Floyd's mandatory) whereas Floyd's is Baldomir, Hatton and Judah... Oh, well.

To be fair he was injured, cut him some slack. cintron is an improved fighter imo, obviously has the power to compete at the top level and beleive he isnt the same inexperienced slugger who fought Margo the first time.

In fact im picking Cintron to use his brains and beat Margo in the rematch.

Gomez is tough but is barely a world rated welterweight, beating Gatti at that point was hardly a surprise and he has weaknesess. KC power would test how tough Gomez really is but i recon he is dropped a few times before losing wide on the cards.

we've seen cintron crumble under pressure..his power definately rescues him most of the time....but gomez's chin can hold up...plus i dont think gomez's style will allow kermit to get leverage on his punches.....

 

Gomez is a pressure fighter but he is no Margarito and Cintron isnt the same fighter Margarito beat. he'll manage to get gomez on the end of his punches.

And he may not have been in serious trouble yet, Cintron is a monster puncher and more talented than anyone Gomez would have faced. his win over Gatti is probably the best there is on there, and Gatti was hardly at his peak.

Kermit, or the 'Mitsta' as he shall now be known, beats him comfortably.

Gomez beat Ben Tackie and a shot Gatti, now he makes Cintron quit.


Out of Gomez last 10 fights, 6 of the 10 fighters were coming off a loss.

cintron went "life and death" and won.

Gomez could only pull a draw against Feliciano.

Gomez loses.

 

Nah not really, maybe on paper but not in reality. Gatti was a corpse there for the taking.

An injured Cintron managed to stopp a fella Gomez could only draw with dont forget...
